Smooth McGroove’s Super Mario Land acappella is heavenly

"One would have to be an emotionless robot to ever grow tired of the bearded Smooth McGroove’s excellent acappella videos. Seriously, if you can’t at least crack a smile during his newly-released Super Mario Land acapella cover, you have no soul.

His cover of “Muda Kingdom,” the ever-catchy second level from the Nintendo Game Boy classic starts off in typical McGroove fashion, but after four repeats of the brief Hip Tanaka-composed melody, something truly special happens. I don’t want to spoil too much, but it’s like the sound of a choir of epic, bearded angels coming together to make everything more joyous in life." - Patrick Kulikowski

Smooth McAutoTune. This guy is fucking annoying, he auto tunes his voice for every song, thus eliminating any potential talent he was trying to exhibit.

There isn't a spec of his actual voice left, it's all effected and I'm sick of people passing this off as talent just because it's a well produced video.

If he could actually sing he wouldn't need a computer to achieve his falsetto.

It would be nice if got to a point in time again where people/artists with ACTUAL talent were recognized and admired.

Guys/people like this piss me off becuase a lot of his audience don't even realize/understand he isn't singing those notes.

LOL, He doesn't use auto tune.

How the Hell do you not hear the obvious pitch correction going on?? You can hear his voice sliding around in the high notes. It's clearly effected.

Smooth McGroove bops out some Super Mario Bros. 2

"Smooth McGroove continues to bop and be-dop his way into our hearts with his videogame music a cappellas, this time tackling Koji Kondo’s “Overworld” music from the black sheep sequel of the Super Mario Bros. series.

Super Mario Bros. 2′s (or Super Mario USA, or Doki Doki Panic, whatever!) “Overworld” theme is the kind of chipper tune one belts out when just going on about his or her day. It’s been covered about a billion times by everyone from The Minibosses, brentalfloss and This Place is Haunted, but doggone it doesn’t it just make you dance in your chair and snap your fingers to the beat?

Grab a turnip, POW block or rocket ship and tune into the YouTube video after the break." - Patrick Kulikowski
