Stop Fragmenting Pre-Order DLC

"“Injustice: Gods Among Us” had us battling it out with our favorite super-powered people and two billionaires. But, if there’s one thing it did pre-release was have us battle our inner selves for which retailer to buy the damn game from." - FirstDropShow.com

I wouldn't mind as much if they bundled all the pre order DLC and codes for future DLC in the limited or collectors editions but they don't. I mean shouldn't you reward your fans for going out their and buying the most expensive versions of your games.

Even with Season Passes, they should come with the collectors edition. I bought the Bioshock Infinite Songbird edition and you would think you would get the DLC free but nope....not even that.

Netherrealm did the same thing with MK9. Retail-exclusive pre-orders just get the devs more ca$h.

Netherrealm also released ALL retailer-exclusive DLC for MK9 for $5.00

I'm not against pre-order DLC or DLC in general, but sometimes the way they do things is just not good. The fragmenting of pre-order DLC is one of them. Its the fans that always come out on the short end with this stuff. You have to make a choice between retailers, and then have to wait sometimes months for the other stuff to be released. It might be different if they were just early unlockables. I would prefer if the publishers just had one pre-order incentive across the board. But they won't if there is money being tossed at them.

This problem would go away if people would just stop buying DLC. It's the worst practice gaming has put forth since its inception and too many people just see it as 'oh my favorite game gets added content' no the game could be kept in development for a couple more months and that content could be part of the game at launch like it's supposed to be. Even a different system of distribution would be nice if nothing else. If DLC is so important to the industry then instead of online passes and DRM the DLC should just be included for everyone that buys the game new instead of used. Unfortunately no, it's about segmenting off parts of to be sold later for even more profit and the fact so many fall into it is awful. End DLC and these problems go away.
