Dear Iwata: What Wii U Owners Want

I’m going to go under the assumption that I’m not alone in wishing there were more content on the Wii U right now. While the writers at NintendoDude loved Need for Speed: Most Wanted U, Lego City: Undercover, and Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate, they were just a short burst of really fun games that all happened to come out at once.

We are trying to act as excited as possible regarding this Spring’s lineup, but to be perfectly honest, the Wii U is looking pretty dry for the rest of this year. While it is entirely understandable that developing video games takes time, and it is also understandable that the Wii U has only been out for a few months, there are a few things that I’ve noticed fans are universally asking for when it comes to the Wii U.

Since Nintendo Co,. Ltd. President, Satoru Iwata has recently added "CEO, Nintendo of America" to his resume, in addition to several other shake-ups within the company, we figured it’s as good a time as any to let Nintendo know what curren...

"Nintendo: your fans are willing to pay you $5 or more EACH for your old games, even though we could just as easily play them for free on a computer or phone!!! Give them to us."

This is what I want the most, and for them to make new IPs. Just how the author described it in the article. Good read ;) I should have a Wii U pretty soon #Virtual console

Emulators are still illegal.

MonkeyNinja4018d ago

Emulators aren't illegal, downloading ROMs when you don't own the original game is illegal.

Have they even got Luigis Mansion, Super Smash Bros Melee, Mario Kart Double Dash, Resident Evil 0 and the Remake etc on their online store

People would pay good money for them

releasing 50 of the best GBA games at $5 each for the 3DS would make them Millions and millions of dollars.

I've heard they are releasing them on Wii U though which makes no sense...

at least they are somewhat getting it now.

We would spend more on old good games than new crappy games.

I think it's better to leave games like AC: Amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash forgotten on the Wii U. Best case, they are mediocre games; worse case, they are very bad. It was a dark time for the Wii U, and the first only exists to sell Amiibo cards, whereas the second was put together in a couple of months with a shoestring budget, and it shows.

The rest of the list does have some really cool games, though. I would love to see a remake of Star Fox Zero with decent controls, and Xenoblade X doesn't require that much modification to work.

How would XCX work without dual screens functionality?

Cacabunga4d ago

Same as Paper Mario color splash. One of the best wiiu games and getting even better with dual screen. Same reason why i prefer Splatoon 1

This article leaves out Nintendo's most controversial game to date devils Third.
I personally found the cover system really fun in that one compared to at the time most fps games completely lacking one.

Stevonidas4d ago

Devil's Third is HIGHLY underrated.

They should remake Starfox to the switch 2. Very beautiful game during gamecube days.

Kirby is always ignored or forgotten by people, so good to see it mentioned here.
Play Kirby Canvas Curse on DS, and then play Rainbow Curse on Wii U, they're really fun and unique 'platformers' without any actual jumping.
