OXM - Battlefield 4 is an interesting prospect, not entirely for good reasons. DICE's latest is pretty to the point of absurdity, with unbelievable detail lavished on every square inch of freshly exploded terrain, but it's hard to get terribly excited about the new features, which include mysterious "elements of social persistence" and a lightweight squad command system. What we've seen so far suggests a clean-up operation, dedicated in the first instance to restoring the breadth Battlefield 3 traded away, rather than an assault on new territory.
Cheaters & hackers have been causing grief on Battlefield 1, Hardline & BF4 servers, with nonstop DDoS attacks among other things. Unfortunately, EA has remained silent about it.
if this happened in 2042, they'd have something to say. which is weird, considering battlefield 1 has more players on steam right now.
Its so obvious that EA is doing this or hired ppl to mess up the games so that we’d be forced to have just 1 Battlefield working.
Honestly it’s probably the devs themselves. They did an update to bf4 way back that kinda made assault rifles doo doo in hopes that people would flock to BF1 cuz BF4 was too perfect
The shooter genre is one of the most beloved videogame genres in the gaming community, and rightfully so. From DOOM Eternal to Battlefield 4, passing through The Outer Worlds, the Xbox Game Pass has a lot to offer when it comes to amazing shooter experiences. Come check out some great shooter games available on Xbox Game Pass!
There's a bunch of great shooters on gamepass; both legacy and new.
A recommendation I have is a work in progress preview title called Anacrusis. It's a lot of fun, and has a cool aesthetic.
KeenGamer: "Sometimes a game starts out as a buggy mess and we all just stop and think, “that definitely could have spent a bit more time in the oven”. This is the case for these 5 games which infamously marked their place in recent game memory."
Huh? That's interesting, as the gameplay trailer we've watched recently had all the clichés you'd expect from a typical military movie/game.
That's not necessarily a bad thing, I sometimes love spending time on those action roller coaster type of games but that's still kind of an ironic statement to make.
If these Devs really want to avoid cliché with Modern military games, then they should make a more 'realistic' modern military game. In a truly realistic modern military game, your character is assigned to stand at a roadside checkpoint in the middle of the desert, while carrying a locked and loaded M-4A1 assault rifle, with a tac-vest full of spare clips. With Each level/mission of the game, the main character would rise from a poor nights sleep in a poorly air-conditioned tent, then ride in a lightly armored convoy truck or HMVV for two hours, stopping frequently for minutes at a time, as patrols ahead investigate potential IED's near the road. Upon finally reaching the military checkpoint, your character paces around in one spot for the next 6 hours, carrying a fully loaded M4, but being unable to shoot at anything unless fired upon, forced to follow a strict set of rules of engagement. During the duration of the following 6 hours, your main character paces around the checkpoint, picks sand out of his teeth, and does routine vehichle checks for any non-military unit that comes through the chckpoint. At the end of 6 hours, your maincharacter takes another slow 2+ hour drive back to the FOB, where he must debrief his senior officers on a completely uneventful day of searching trunks and spitting sand.
this will more than likely be the best military FPS out this year 2013 (as MW4 will more than likely use that same 8yr engine, still not have dedicated servers and cant do a REAL future setting)...... sadly, the CoD fanboy site IGN has already started their campaign to downtalk BF4 and promote anything and everything CoD related. Disgusting CoD fanboy site.... And it's ABSOLUTELY pathetic how these same stupid "journalist" were foaming at the mouth and creamin in their pants over that copy and paste MW3, but are quick to try to paint a picture of BF4 is "same stuff" from a 17min video...
FPS, big set pieces for action, over the top military story, can only play as Male in online and offline, things blowing up all the time, etc.... What exactly isn't cliche?
Bad Company wasn't as cliche, but hey EA wanted cliche BF4 instead.
Call me a homer, but I'll give DICE the benefit of the doubt.
It's very difficult to convey emotion because it's hard to feel sympathetic when you're shooting random soldier after random soldier. It's why the Bad Company campaigns are so well loved because the soldiers almost acknowledge the absurdity of what is going on.
