God we get games like killzone shadow fall, elemental, and deep down right out the gate.
But the amazing yet scary thing is ND and SSM haven't even taken the stage.
And this is available at launch...imagine what games could look like a few years from now o-o

starchild4082d ago

Yep, exciting times. Sony seems to be building a fantastic console.

Sarcasm4082d ago

This generation is already an exciting and different one for Sony. Looks like they are re-invigorating the industry once again and have started to amend some of their ties with developers.

Epic Games, Bungie, Square Enix, Capcom, Activision all pledging their support for the PS4.

I mean come on, Unreal Engine 4 actually looks frackin' amazing, even though people started getting tired of UE3.

jmc88884082d ago

Well at least they created their system that resolves two of the biggest problems they had this generation.

Comparable ram
X86 CPU so devs don't need to learn something completely new.

You can create screenshots like that with PS2 hardware... It just takes more time to process.

I won't be getting overly excited until they release real-time videos and playable demos.

[EDIT]
Before I get a billion more disagrees... I haven't seen the demos... yet.

Thanks SonyNGP for the FYI

SonyNGP4082d ago

They did show off a real-time demo a few hours ago.

Qrphe4082d ago

So next-gen consoles CAN run stuff like the Elemental Demo and Agni's Philosophy real-time after all? Skeptics were wrong.

Well to be fair, SE's demo had only been camera recorded and Epic's demo has bad screenshots.

RyuCloudStrife4082d ago

Also as this was playing the guy said it was running on prototype hardware.

Didn't say PS4 prototype hardware.

It is a PC made engine.

When you look around, most of the games are multiplatform that will have versions on PC's, and if new, come from devs known to support PC, like Capcom.

What we saw was PC footage of what the PS4 is supposedly capable of doing.

Do I think it's possible it'll be comparable +/- 10 percent? Sure. But I also want to know what were the specs of the PC running the demos?

Remember people Watch Dogs was shown last year running off 3x GTX 580's. The PS4 has the raw power of a single GTX 580 if slightly overclocked.

Thus what did we really see?

Still a pre-order day 1 for me, but people are assuming way too much.

We simply don't know what we saw.

Right? Thanks for checking it out!

Fans??? This is done by one person

WoodsRatesGames1086d ago

Someone else was commissioned to do the music and another person modelled the batmobile. Links to all involved are included in the article.

Gaming4Life19811086d ago

They should have been made a batman game for the best batman movie. This looks amazing and now I must watch the movie.

Am I crazy or is there an Unreal Engine 5 now? Why promote old tech?

waverider1107d ago

I really dont understand either? isnt the Unreal Engine 5 already available for studios? arent they already working with it?

masterfox1107d ago

UE5 Is for PS5 only, deal with it! :D

***runs away from this thread with pride!**

Tacoboto1107d ago

UE5 is not released yet and developers for years will still make UE4 games because that's where their tools and customizations are.

Mortal Kombat still uses UE3. Mass Effect Legendary Edition is also still UE3.

Magog1107d ago

That more of an embarrassing indictment of those devs than a reason to promote old software.

Tacoboto1107d ago

Embarrassing indictment? You know nothing of software development then.

Spenok1107d ago (Edited 1107d ago )

Because a ridiculous amount of the industry still uses 4, and because no, 5 is not out yet. They said it would launch later this year.

AuraAbjure1107d ago

Companies still use Unreal Engine 3.

Really impressive tech but I don’t even notice all of these benefits in real life, never mind being chased by zombies in a video game. Rather devote resources to resolution and frame rate.

Magog1107d ago

If you suddenly stopped casting reflections in a mirror I think you would notice.

Yes after seeing the Unreal 5 ps5 reveal, I thought that's where we were heading. But saying that I have read various articles that suggest its easy for developers to still work on Unreal 4 and carry everything over to Unreal 5 when needed, we shall see.
