How Creative Assembly's next gen project could save the Aliens IP

OXM - You might think that the apocalyptic kicking bestowed on Aliens: Colonial Marines by reviewers is a disaster for Gearbox and SEGA. It's quite possible - likely, even - that the game will sell a bucketload of copies regardless. A couple of reviewers enjoy the new shooter, enough to supply a few glowing quotes for the ad campaigns, and the power of the brand shouldn't be underestimated, even within the mistrustful precincts of "core" games enthusiasm.

Sega says Creative Assembly will return to genres it knows best after Hyenas’ cancellation

Sega has said Creative Assembly will go back to working on the genres it knows best, following the decision to cancel Hyenas.
It’s implied the studio’s focus will return to offline RTS.

The development of Creative Assembly's new FPS is having to overcome several obstacles

From GameWatcher: "News of Creative Assembly’s next game has been pretty thin on the ground so far despite a release supposedly happening in the current fiscal year, so naturally the question of ‘what’s happening there?’ came up during SEGA’s recent management meeting.

The answer from the company’s president was quick to point out stumbling blocks in development, but kept it pretty vague after that."
