Sony will probably announce the PlayStation 4 next month

Simply by process of elimination this theory makes sense. What else could they possibly be revealing? A redesigned PlayStation Vita? A new PlayStation Move? Actual games for the Vita? Probably not.

First of all it's in 2 1/2 weeks not next month & secondly the only noticable thing in the advert is the number 4 so what else could it be?

No I doubt it. At least not significantly. People won't wait and buy a PS4/720 version of those games, they'll buy those games and play them on a PS3/360. When the new ones come out and they want to keep playing those games, they can pop them into the PS4/720 and continue playing them.

I do think it will hurt console sales for PS3/360. But that would happen no matter when they announced them. Happens every time. Though some people with $$$ issues will buy the 360/PS3 and there will probably be a price drop which should minimize the drop off.
