30 Minutes of Game: Final Fantasy 2

Final Fantasy II (ファイナルファンタジーII Fainaru Fantajī Tsū?) is a fantasy role-playing video game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) in 1988 for the Family Computer as the second installment of the Final Fantasy series. The game has received numerous enhanced remakes for the WonderSwan Color, the Sony PlayStation, Japanese mobile phones, the Game Boy Advance, and the PlayStation Portable.

Only the PlayStation, Game Boy, and PlayStation Portable versions have been released outside of Japan. As neither this game nor Final Fantasy III had been released outside of Japan, Final Fantasy IV was originally released in North America as Final Fantasy II, so as not to confuse players. The most recent release of the game is a release of the enhanced version of the game for the iOS worldwide on February 25, 2010.

This is currently on sale on the Ps Store and it works with the Vita.

Playing it now. Grinding in this game is tedious since it doesn't have a normal leveling system.

CrescentFang4106d ago

This game is really old school and has an archaic leveling system. I really love the story in this one though. I played the GBA version and I dunno why I could stand the high enemy encounter rate lol.

Tzuno4106d ago (Edited 4106d ago )

This is not ff2 this is part of ff origins. Ff2 is with cecil and kain known as ff4 on other parts.

Treian4106d ago

This IS FFII. What are you talking about?

Dasteru4106d ago (Edited 4106d ago )

This is the real FF II.

It wasn't originally released for the NES in NA.

The NA FF II with Cecil was originally FF IV, when it came to NA they called it FF II so that people wouldn't wonder why we went straight from I-IV without a II or III.

I=I
II=IV - The real FF II didn't release in NA til the GB.
III=VI - The real FF III didn't release in NA til the DS.

The real FF V didn't release in NA til the PS1.

FF VII was the 4th FF to release in NA.

FF Origins is a re-release of the first 2 FFs and the first time the real FF II released in NA.

Dasteru4106d ago (Edited 4106d ago )

Just a correction to my last post.

FF II first released in NA on the PS1 not the GB, the second release was on the GBA as Dawn of souls.

I’m Glad Atlus & SE Changed Dates To Avoid Competing With Shadow Of The Erdtree

Saad from eXputer: "I'm glad I don't have to choose between Square Enix, Atlus, and FromSoftware due to bad release windows and Shadow of the Erdtree."

More intelligent than guerilla games

raWfodog1d 11h ago (Edited 1d 11h ago )

Atlus is releasing their game one week before Erdtree, SE is releasing theirs one week after.

HZD released four days before Zelda, HFW released one week before Elden Ring.

It seems to me like they are still releasing their games too close to Erdtree.

VincentVanBro11h ago(Edited 11h ago)

What a word vomit, rambling, turd of an article that simply states the obvious. Classic exputer.

Yuji Naka guilty of insider trading breaks silence to accuse Square Enix producer of lies

Yuji Naka was fined $1.2 million and given a suspended jail sentence for the crime.

I find his comments around how Balan turned out to be very insightful as to why the game is trash. He basically apologises for its existence

solideagle15d ago

can you please give some of us who don't know anything about this, a summary of what happened?

Chocoburger14d ago

Balan was knowingly rushed out by S-E, it had an extremely short dev cycle and was fairly low budget.
Naka was the game's director until near the end when he was fired or perhaps he quit, I forgot.

carrotcakeag14d ago

@Chocoburger Yeah they did fire and replace him which caused him to unload a bunch of rants about the company. The project only existed because of Naka in the first place, he convinced Square to give him one shot at making a platformer. They gave him an opportunity but pulled the rug out before he was done for reasons not explained.

jznrpg18d ago

Hopefully they don’t. From this it doesn’t sound like that is the case and development is just taking too long.
