Well... Yes, we know this. It's a fantastic feature and usually works very well. You can use that OR Skype for free on Vita.

mandf4261d ago

It works really well. I played final fantasy 2 all night chatting with friends and no problems.

Snookies124261d ago

Hah, for a second there I thought you meant the PSP Anniversary edition... Was about to say, when the heck did they put that up on the PSN!?

Forgot they added Origins. Yeah though, it's really nice to be able to talk while playing just about any game. Although for some reason, it doesn't work with Disgaea 3 for Vita. They might have fixed it since last I checked, but every time I started that game up I got kicked out of the Party chat.

mandf4261d ago

Yeah it's the origin version. I'm doing a marathon this month to beat all the final fantasy game 1-9. It will probably be like 2 months worth. A lot of grinding to do.

Bowzabub4261d ago (Edited 4261d ago )

Yup, we have XGC with voice (up to 8) AND video(1on1). Owned.

MGRogue20174261d ago (Edited 4261d ago )

The same unfortunately can't be said for another network gaming service.. beginning with 'X' by M$.. >_>

SignifiedSix4261d ago (Edited 4261d ago )

Had to bring that up like the child you are? Do you sony fanboys thrive off of trolling or something?

Grow up, child.

OT. Im glad they added this to the vita as its a very good feature. There's nothing better than having a room of 8 people playing the same game on the same team.
You always seem to win when you play and communicate with a group of friends.
If they add it to the next PS, they better throw in a decent mic with the console. Almost every server i go into on bf3 for the ps3 is pretty much dead quiet.
I hate that.

ddurand14261d ago

your belittling condescending post was so much more mature, thanks for that.

Mounce4261d ago

He had to bring it up, but you had to lash out at him, call him a child. Yet in the process, all most people see you as is a raging child having a tempertantrum about what another 'child' said on the internet.

He can be biased to Microsoft if he wishes, no need to get your jimmies rustled.

I'm gonna play devil's advocate here...................

I thought this feature was crap, when it was on the xbox360?

I never have, and probably will never own a handheld, and I've been around since the original black and white gameboy, but it is great that the vita has this feature.

jon12344261d ago

for those of you people who dont know... due to a small vocabulary i will post up the definition of devils advocate to prevent any hate comments or unwarranted disagrees on this user because its happend to me...

Devils advocate: a devil's advocate is someone who, given a certain argument, takes a position he or she does not necessarily agree with

jon12344261d ago (Edited 4261d ago )

i do :)

which is why i posted it.

MasterCornholio4261d ago (Edited 4260d ago )

The feature isnt crap at all on the XBOX360. Whats crappy about it is that Microsoft requires you to have a gold subscription in order to access it while Sony doesnt require you to have plus in order to use it.

Thats the main difference its free on one platform and on the other one it isnt. People say it doesnt matter because its a handheld but everyone knows that Sony will provide crossgame/ crossplatform chat on the PS4 for free while Microsoft will continue to require you to rent the feature from them.

Off Topic: Honestly the only thing that i will rent from either Microsoft or Sony is to access a catalog of full games from them. I would never pay for online multiplayer or voice chat because those features are offered on most platforms for free (except XBOXlive and others that i dont know of).

I never liked talking to people who are in other games. It annoys me.

PS Vita Fans Want Soul Sacrifice to Return on PS5, PS4 Next

There was a period when the PS Vita was new where Sony was desperate to secure a Monster Hunter-style hit on the system. You may recall that Capcom’s series had been extremely kind to the PSP, effectively securing it a second wind in its native Japan. But it’s widely rumoured that Nintendo swooped in and bought Nintendo 3DS exclusivity for future entries, leaving its rival scrambling for a replacement.

The company published several high-profile projects in the genre, including Freedom Wars, which will be remastered early next year. But that’s left some fans pondering whether Soul Sacrifice could also make a comeback, the first of its Monster Hunter-inspired projects.

Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Dimps have announced Freedom Wars Remastered, a remastered version of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s 2014-released PS Vita action RPG including previously released downloadable content. It will launch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam on January 9, 2025 in Japan and January 10 worldwide.

Rangerman12083d ago (Edited 3d ago )

Crossing my fingers for Marvelous AQL to one day buy Soul Sacrifice from Sony as well.

Goodguy012d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Well well well...so this game came back. Great game. Has it's flaws but it was a fun playthrough. Still hoping to this day it gets a sequel. Definitely picking it up.

monkey6022d ago

I really enjoyed this game for a while but it ran out of steam half way through. It was a great concept though

MrGameAndWatch2d ago

Oh my... I enjoyed this game so much on my vita.. Nice story, incredible gameplay, so fun. Totally unexpected, made my day!

neomahi1d 19h ago

So then, why don't you play it the way it was originally meant to be played? There's this big push to bring back the Vita, this ain't bringing back the Vita, this is the opposite of that

MrGameAndWatch1d 17h ago

Maybe because.. servers are offline and im done playing only with a basic AI?

OpenAI unveils new o1 AI model that "thinks" and it can code a video game from a single prompt

OpenAI has introduced a new series of AI models, o1, that are capable of complex reasoning and problem-solving - including game programming.

TheNamelessOne5d ago

I'm very worried about where the games industry may be in a few years.

oldenjon4d ago

AI is completely unsustainable and expected to accelerate climate change. I expect government to take a harder stance on it within the next couple of decades, but by that point we may not even have a government or a gaming industry so….

Hofstaderman4d ago

When/ if it comes to this point, I have a massive collection spanning from the NES to current gen. No problem turning to retro gaming.

cthulhucultist4d ago

This is basically a more advanced model embedding the chain of thought technique by spending reasoning tokens while "thinking" before providing an output and is more suited for heavy specific tasks in coding, math and science.

I have used it for creating complex game puzzles (for role playing games) using tiered approach and multi step reasoning and it worked liked a charm.

It does not support vision at this point however or other multi modal features, nor does it generate images (no DALL-E 3 integration yet) and it has limits for plus and teams users in usage (20 and 50 messages per week respectively).

I have create an interactive guide for it for getting started here

https://view.caduceusapp.eu...

In any case, I believe that when the new models launch (GPT5 Orion, Claude Opus 3.5 and Gemini 2 along with Grok 3) we will see a big difference in gaming as well. Combined with text to video AI tools like Open AI's Sora, we will definitely see a decrease in quality in games and increase in. output, at least at the beginning.

In a few years where the models will be more fine tuned, we wont be able to tell the difference really

ZoboomafooFan4d ago (Edited 4d ago )

Mostly but not 100% right. o1-preview and o1-mini both have a 20 request per minute limit. o1-preview also has a 30 message cap per week for Plus users, and there is a smaller model I mentioned earlier, o1-mini, that functions similarly on math and code problems and comes with a 50 message weekly cap for Plus users. Combined you essentially get 80 messages per week w/ Plus. I work in machine learning so I wanted to clarify those points. Also, o1 itself hasn't been released yet, just o1-preview, but evaluation results of o1 have been publicly released and are comparable to o1-preview and o1-mini. I agree with the remainder of your points!

cthulhucultist4d ago

Correct! the 30 (which is not 20 as i wrote) and 50 requests I mentioned referred to the two models which I did not quote in the same sentence so it makes sense that it reads as if I am talking about the types of users (Teams or Plus).

Besides in my guide I have this information noted down as per OpenAIs website (I already exhausted my limit but was reset by OpenAI)

Yes the OpenAI model is part of the new reasoning models and has not been released yet. We now have access (as plus/teams of API Level 5 user) to mini and preview which are quite capable but limited in the scope due to their focus on certain topics.

Since you are working on machine learning, I suppose you should be excited about the new PS5 Pro performance or the new AMD offerings

OneLove4d ago (Edited 4d ago )

Well AI would be necessary for the sword art online VR experience ppl are expecting to exist somewhere in the future. Aka full body VR.
