I hope Retro will be releasing something this year. I don't want to wait for an amazing AAA Nintendo game. I also am wondering what Miyamoto is working on. He has done some different stuff, Mario, Starfox, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Pikmin. I really hope its a new platform franchise and not something like Pikmin. I like Pikmin, but we get part 3 soon, so I am hoping for a new Platform with new characters.

Deku-Johnny4146d ago

Wasn't Miyamoto one of the people they announced were working on a new IP?

metroid324146d ago

He's working on an FPS.

Old McGroin4146d ago

A new Star Fox would be brilliant as long as they don't drag it down the RPG route. A new 3D Mario would be great as well but I'm getting a bit tired of him to be honest! F-Zero would be very welcome as well! Think the new Zelda game isn't gonna be around until 2014, loved the realistic look shown on the Wii U tech demo a few months back but heard they're sticking to the cartoon graphics :( Not sure about Pikimin, never played it before but the videos I've seen for part 3 are a small bit underwhelming, are you just a guy with a glass bowl on his head who fires little colourful men at garden stuff?

Yeah, Nintendo really need some new IPs.

AJBACK2FRAG4146d ago (Edited 4146d ago )

Dude really Pikmin 1 and 2 were triple A games in my opinion. The controls are so fun just to use nevermind the actual games which were are top shelf stuff, brilliant stuff from the master. I'm looking very, very forward to Pikmin 3 and GTA U.
Kingofwiiu, Aliens Colonial Marines and Wonderfull 101 especially look insane! (>'o')>∞!

ElectricKaibutsu4146d ago

The only Pikmin I've played was in Nintendo Land but that was enough to convince me to get Pikmin 3.

Old McGroin, before saying Nintendo needs new IPs maybe you should try their current IPs first :)

yeahokchief4145d ago (Edited 4145d ago )

hehe best of luck to you with mario, starfox, zelda, and donkey kong but they did not mention a single title like that in the article.

singstar and monsterhunter are the only games they announce in the article. pretty sad.

SandWitch4146d ago

Yeah right, Sing Party is a fantastic game

-_-

PopRocks3594146d ago

Sing Party wasn't even on this list.

SandWitch4146d ago

Lol, did you even read the article?

"We've got a lot of fantastic titles - Monster Hunter, Ninja Gaiden, Sing Party, fantastic titles for everyone"

EddieNX 4146d ago

Monster Hunter Ultimate , Wonderfull 101 , Rayman Legends , Pikmin 3 , ALiens colonial marines , Game and Wario , Project cars , NFSMW , Sniper Ghost warrior , Fist of the north star 2 , etc etc.

Ninja gaiden 3 razors edge and scribblenauts if you live in Europe.

And many many more to be announced.

XXXL4146d ago

None of those impress me at all. Give me Zelda, metroid, etc.

EddieNX 4146d ago

@XXXL . None of those impress you at all ? Then you must have a terrible taste in gamming. Not my/our problem.

Pikmin 3 - Huge.
Rayman Legends- Huge
Monster Hunter Ultimate- Huge
Bayonetta 2-Huge
Wonderfull 101 - Huge

Games like Lego city.

ZeekQuattro4146d ago

Nice to see someone one who wants Fist of the North Star 2. I started playing the original again after about a year. I forgot how addicting it was.

Trago13374146d ago

WTF is Retro Working on?!?!?!?

AznGaara4146d ago (Edited 4146d ago )

When The Wonderful 101 and Beyonetta 2 get releases dates, I'll buy a Wii-u.

DivineAssault 4146d ago

How Many More Victims, Like Garry's Mod, Will Nintendo's Hurtful Crusade Create?

Hanzala from eXputer: "As Nintendo takes out 20 years' worth of stuff from Garry's Mod, I watch in shock, thinking why it continues to hurt and discourage its fans."

RiseNShine8d ago (Edited 8d ago )

The irony that some of the most disgusting business practices come from companies like Disney or Nintendo, i can't even begin to understand what terrible damage was Garrys Mod making to Nintendo bottom line, imho they're getting pretty nervous about where they're heading in the future, handhelds are no longer something exclusive to Nintendo, from Steam Deck to many others, now you can play the latest games and pay a fraction of the price on Steam sales, so it's up to their exclusives, which just on their own would make hard to justify purchasing a closed overpriced hardware with outrageous price policies (Super Mario Odyssey is still 60 euro 6 years later!), and as a home console they're always underperforming compared to Sony or Xbox.

gold_drake8d ago (Edited 8d ago )

i cam guarantee you, that their exclusives alone is what drives switch sales. they sell in the 10s of millions of copies.

nintendo created their franchises to be sort of nostalgia driven, exclusive only on nintendo.

people will always buy the pkmn games as they always bring in new younger fans amd is family friendly

mario kart, the same thing, mario games in general.

zelda games are system sellers. animal crossing for the casual gamers.

nintendo doesnt need third vame devs essentially. they made sure with the switch and the limitations that they looked more to pc ps and xbox.

its sad, but nintendo is more than fine with what they're doing. they positioned themselves to appeal to the more casual gamers.

but to your point, im not sure why they're doing this rly.

Look at how they handled Nintendo games being streamed or uploaded on YouTube in the past. They killed Yuzu and Citra even when they had nothing to do with ToTK being leaked, not to mention it was basically unplayable on emulation the week it was leaked. Smash Bros tournament, that was fairly recent. They shut down their online services without any care for purchases made. I bought a switch after skipping their last 2 consoles and handhelds but I don't plan on buying anything Nintendo in the future. They take things to the extremes, they legitimately hate their fans. They're honestly right up there with the likes of Acti, EA, and Ubi, only difference is that they disguise themselves as being family friendly all the while being shady.

Nintendo's Massacre Of The 3DS And Wii U Is Finally Complete, Regrettably

Hanzala from eXputer: "The cruel hammer of Nintendo has fallen. Farewell, 3DS and Wii U, you surely brightened my life and many others; you won't be forgotten."
