Hitman: Absolution Review - Xbox Reviewer

Agent 47, everybody’s favourite follically challenged killing aficionado has certainly been missed during his long six year hiatus. Better late than never though, he makes his long awaited return to our screens, bringing back his own unique style of sophisticated murder. It has been six long (really, really long) years since Bloody Money, the highly acclaimed Hitman game was released, and the lack of the complex stealth mechanics that only a Hitman game can bring to the table have been sparse in recent years, leaving fans longing for a new Hitman game. Thankfully though, our prayers have been answered and a new Hitman game is here, Hitman Absolution. The question was would Hitman Absolution be able to reclaim the series’ former glory, or would it fall short of fans expectations.

"everybody’s favourite follically challenged killing aficionado"

I think Richard B Riddick just shed a tear.
Words can hurt you know?

I don't know if i'd call Riddick an aficionado. I feel like you have to wear a suit to be an aficionado.

Agent 47 ain't got nothin' on Sam Fisher. And Sam Fisher ain't got nothin' on Snake.

Snake > Sam Fisher > Agent 47

However:

Agent 47 + Snake/Sam Fisher Gadgets > Snake + Sam Fisher

Why?

It's Agent 47's killer attitude (haha), that would give him the advantage if he had access to the same equipment Fisher and Snake have.

nobody tops solid but 47 has had a great series of games.

Fisher has gone tragically down hill, all i remember now is a middle aged man playing a piano in a used sweater....

Now not voiced by Micheal Ironside, Sam Fisher is dead to me.

I'm not necessarily talking about the games, I'm talking about the abilities and skill sets of each of the three; comparing the individuals, shall we say.

I'm having a blast in this game still to this day.

My personal favorite on-the-go weapon would have to be the radio. Turn it on and lure NPC's in or break it over someones face? You decide.

How IO turned Hitman around, from Absolution to World of Assassination

When Hitman 3 recently changed its name to Hitman World of Assassination, fans had no idea how meaningful the moment was. On the outside it looked like a simple thing: Hitman 3 would now be known by this name and include levels from Hitman 2 and 3 - the trilogy would all be in one place. But on the inside, at IO Interactive, much more was going on.

You mean destroyed it with this tethered single-player campaign BS... And only the first few levels of the third modern game were on the disc! I'll never support this crap at any price-point! They've lost me as a customer.

Hitman is, and has been, a remarkable series developed by some of the best. Some are better than others, but every Hitman is challenging and fun.

Sure, there have been some stumbles and fumbles, but always in pursuit of the perfect Hitman game. The most recent trilogy is a masterclass in level design.
