Video games have some of the most recognizable characters and mascots in the world. However, they not only need the trademark appearance, but a voice to match. From Troy Baker to Tara Strong, this is a list of the five voice actors who have dedicated the most of their talent to video games.
This looks awesome. ’ Halloween Horror Night sends Neil Druckmann, Co-Studio Head & Head of Creative at Naughty Dog, and Troy Baker, the actor behind Joel, on a terrifying excursion of the “The Last of Us” haunted house, based on Naughty Dog and PlayStation’s award-winning post-pandemic video game.
Neil's body language seems to say the opposite of what he says. He doesn't seem to react to anything other than pointing.
It’s him, Nintendo has just been using the same voice lines and samples for the past ten years or so, and now a new direction for the series has opened up, Martinet has made a return to give the character new life. Maturity is all we’re hearing as the voice of an actor who likely hasn’t stepped into Mario’s shoes since 2013 is asked to do so again.
Anyone would sound different under these circumstances, and it doesn’t make the character any less. Just listen to Tom Kenny as Spongebob Squarepants in more recent iterations. The laugh just doesn’t sound quite the same anymore as his vocal range has fallen victim to the reality of growing older. Besides, Martinet recently played two roles in the Super Mario Bros. movie and was given deserved billing for his impact on popular culture, so to suddenly give him the boot for the next mainline game just wouldn’t make sense.
Would think him being a blink and miss cameo in the movie was celebs over all Illumination's idea, not Nintendo's.
Batman: Arkham City actor Tara Strong argues against AI acting by sharing the powerful emotions she experienced while playing Harley Quinn.
"Can AI cry?"
Yes, yes it can. Train it with enough people actually crying and it'll imitate crying like the best of em
I never thought I'd say I wanna tap Fat Princess. That voice in PSASBR is quite annoying, but that voice actress... damn.
Mark Hamill should be in there.
Paarthunax has the same voice as Mario? Mind. Blown.
"It's-a-me, FUS-RO-DAH!"
I say that Cave Johnson and Spiderman newspaper boss guy voice-actor (J.K. Simmons). He's hilarious, has great emotion, and is even in some TV shows/movies!
