Next Assassin’s Creed Could Go To Unexpected Place, Says Creative Director

For years now fans of the Assassin’s Creed series have speculated on which time periods and historic events could play host to future installments. But now Assassin Creed III’s creative director Alex Hutchinson has hinted that developer Ubisoft might be keen to take on a less popular choice of destination for their next adventure.

But Canadian history is boring... its pretty much about us being the bitch of American and the UK, and we essentially never gained any identity in the world

I dare any canadian to state an interesting moment in our history

Although a free roam game in modern day canada would be kind of interesting

Battle at Vimy Ridge is all I can think of off the top of my head.

Canada basically took out the Germans that were occupying that area while outnumbered by themselves (no real ally support if I remember right)

Similarly yes, but I've been talking about the setting long before Saboteur for Assassins Creed. Been a fan of European history since high school and always thought that the setting would suit perfectly if Ubisoft was going to a point in history where players are killing Nazis.

Hitler having an Apple of Eden of course. His suicide being an assumption to his actual death at the hands of an assassin.

This is what I would like too. As soon as anyone mentions AC and ninjas people flip out and say its been done to death. I would like to know where all these ninja games are over the past few years because I want to play them. Ninjas have been used in plenty of games, but nothing to the extent AC would use them. Ninjas, samurai, villages, temples, the weapons, the martial arts...it could be great. It just makes too much sense, so therefore it wont happen.

I have yet to play AC3 so not sure how much the overall story arc did advance. But as a spin off, playing as ADAM or EVE would be very refreshing for what you'd expect from an AC game.

okay feudal japan is probably the only good one their. however not as a samurai but as a shinobi (ninjas) and the setting should be during the time when the Europeans were coming over to japan. the area such as bamboo forests, massive forts and castles, the only issue would be trying to try and implement the templer assassins war i suppose you could have it as ninjas vs the samurai clash, honour, or samurai supplied by European firepower aka Templers who wish to get an alliance with a Japanese dayiamo. weapons no problem
- katanas
- naginta's

- bows and arrows
- spears

some flaws that may present themselves:
ninjas operate in the night and shadows, of course you can have daylight ninjas that use disguises and what not and Japanease themed hood assassin apparel.

- not very large parkour type areas:
althought there is castles and that during the time, building are usually kept low as previouisly seen however since this judgment has only 5% research applied i am most likely wrong.

story: the only story i think would make the most sense would the fact that the templers and assains have heard of another artifact relevent to their causes which is located somewhere in japan in which the assains seek out help from the local ninja clan in which you a ninja recruit possibly sent by Ezio during assains creed brotherhood or revelations which i think that the time periods as well as the technology avaible should be relevent.

for those looking for ninja games the only ones i can think of are the tenchu(ps2 i think) series and the shinobido revenge of zen(vita) both are ninja related while revenge of zen is good ninja fun,its not very good visuals, but its has assaination missions(generals, meerchants and Daimyo) its has thief missions(stealing rice barrels to lower a daiymo's food supply weakening their forces. obliteration, attacking transports and escorts. protecting and escorting.

We all know this all leading up to the eventual WW2 assassinate Hitler game. I admit i cannot wait for it myself. WW2, massive battlefields, airraids, sneaking past troops, snow fields, forests, destroyed cities, and eventually Hitlers Bunker. Stay tuned for the eventual Mussolini DLC!

They would have to handle it tastefully as there were so many atrocities commited and i dont think having death camps or mass graves would be right although historically accurate. Might be too much but i think that the game will happen and will rock. Needs to have at least a 3 year dev time and be a huge leap. Doesnt even need to use lots of guns make it more stealth.

I also nominate Fudal Japan, China during the great leap forward, Ancient Egypt, WW1, Civil War, Cold War Soviet Union with Cuba DLC, hell the possibilities are endless. It needs to change setting every game. No more trilogys in a similar town, time, and setting like 2, Brotherhood, and Revelations.
