Media Create software sales (10/1 - 10/7)

Media Create released a listing of the Japan's best-selling games. Resident Evil 6 sees huge sales in its first week.

Good for PS3 thanks to RE6, bad for Vita, games released last week felt of the chart really fast and the system is now at 8k

Wont change the initial sales , and everything drop of at least 50% usually following the next weeks .

However people wanna cut it , it's a win for capcom so far . And there will always be enough customers getting their dlcs for the game .

if this game make a good sales i will say this is the most disappoint generation since 1995 .

anyway this is just on ps3 in japan lets see the total sales .

good. Strong sales for RE6 is the proof that
1)the whining of hardcore gamers was unjustified
2)hardcore gamers (always dissatisfied of everything) (look at lenght case of dishonored) are a small part of gamers.
3)low ratings of serveral reviews are made by unsuitable reviewers who do not know what people want.

I'm not sure that's definitive proof but I do agree that the so called 'hardcore' gamer has become something of a whiner and reviewers are out of touch (and probably jaded)

I completely agree with you but this also makes pleasing the hardcore gamer pointless. And this makes reviews in general lose a lot of their power from the game developers viewpoint. Ultimately, this is for the best because gamers are just hating on game after game for no good reason at all and reviews have been a joke for a long time now. The reality is that if a game sells well than it is being enjoyed. Just because it may not have hardcore gamer appeal, that doesn't make the game bad. People can hate on WoW or CoD all they want, but if the game still sales millions than some people are clearly enjoying it.

With that said, it's sad because it's clear that the hardcore gamers are out of touch with what sells well and every time something sells well in spite of reviews and hardcore gamer opinions, companies stop caring about our opinion a little bit more. This whole RE situation is going to have a major backlash on Reviewers in general because it's clear that reviewers are being unfairly harsh or overly generous to RE6. The fact is that RE6 is a solid game that tries to do some cool stuff and executes it poorly in many places. Despite that the game is decent.

I am really interested to see next weeks stats when Toki to Towa for the PS3 is released. It may be another big week for PS3 in Japan cause of this game.

Though the 3DS may also be big next week cause of Bravery Default & Project X Zone. So we'll see.

Games like Resident Evil are what make Playstation so popular in Japan. With the Wii U not having the power to not only play these games but at a higher resolution, Sony should really start securing exclusives and strengthening 3rd party relationships. We don't want that Monster Hunter thing happening all over again.....
