A new way of unearthing videogame cheaters has been introduced to RuneScape, the world’s most popular online adventure game.
‘Botany Bay’ is a new in-game area where the community can judge the cheats, voting on ways in which they can be destroyed and throwing rotten fruit as the votes are counted. Methods of disposal include being stomped on by a dragon, blasted by a ray of light from the RuneScape gods, or consumed by a giant worm.
Jagex has launched a limited-time Easter-themed update for RuneScape players, inviting them to explore the charming Blooming Burrow.
And did you know Jagex is valued at up to $1.25 billion?
You can guess how this is going...
Modern gaming, but dw they'll listen to the community.
Subscription model with a battle pass, gtfo.
People should stop playing it to boycott it, the game isn't even that good so that shouldn't be too hard.
This is an awesome solution. Kudos, Runescape. We'll see if COD Black Ops II comes pre-loaded with a Botany Bay level. :-)
It's creative, I'll give you that but c'mon guys. These people are already playing Runescape, anything beyond that is just cruel and unusual punishment.
