NowGamer: Halo 4 is pushing the series' live action angle with Forward Unto Dawn, but 343 is still interested in making a Halo movie.
The Xbox brand is expanding, as an Xbox mobile game store is opening this coming July where Microsoft will brings its "first-party portfolio."
“Bond adds that they will start on the web”
This will go nowhere.
Nice knowing you Xbox. This is what happens when the house never gets cleaned.
The only this MS is expanding is the amount of feculence it sprays on everyone who just want to enjoy gaming and make games.
The best thing MS can do for the gaming industry is leave and never return.
It turns out that many moons ago, Microsoft once had its eye on the Sony published LittleBigPlanet series.
Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.

They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.
They're scum.
"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."
Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.
Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.
But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?
Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.
The full Skewedcast crew back for this episode and Gareth, Justin, Michael, and JoeyZ at Skewed and Reviewed break down the latest entertainment news qith a focus at 40:00 on the Microsoft Studio Closures and how it impacts the game community and what can be done to help offset this negative trend.
Needs to happen one day - just don't throw $500 million at it, simple.
Only if the director is a right fit and understands the true Halo story. It's a bit risky and certainly costly.
Holding off still seems like the best idea for a few more years.
I think instead of an actual movie starring Master Chief, they should make movies based on the Halo series books. Such as Sgt. Johnson in Contact Harvest (which was awesome), and I remember a collection of small stories in a really large Halo book where a few of them were quite interesting enough to be standalone installments. A Halo movie doesn't sound bad, it's just that making one based around the video games might get gimped, and I'd rather see something from the book format be converted to movie. Especially since books dish out more information than a game can.
Am I the only one who dosen't really like the live action stuff.
I'd rather have a epic story trailer....WHICH WE STILL DON'T HAVE
Series I feel like they focus too much on the live action stuff and it if there was going to be a movie, judgsing by the live stuff they do, it's not the direction I would want it to head in.
I would love to see a film one day where Master Chief would be like he is in the games and the films revolves around the characters that support him...lets face it making Chief a talkative wise cracking badass in the films would be off putting but not seeing him in them as the main character would be depressing.
Microsoft should just handle it themselves, a big budget movie is 150-200 million, which is chump change to them. They could even do a web series or whatever else they wanted, Halo has such a fantastic lure and its ripe with amazing stories, I really get into the expanded Halo universe.
