Did GTA V sink Agent on the PS3?

Back in 2009 Jack Tretton took the stage to announce "the next big Rockstar Game" for the PlayStation 3. Alleged to be in development since 2007, Agent hasn't seen the light of day since that fateful Sony press conference. Despite investors consistently asking about the game in quarterly company briefings, Take Two Interactive has dodged any culpability for the lack of intel on Agent. With both sides pointing fingers at one another, this week another round of questions hit Take Two. Again, the company didn't have much to say when it comes to Agent.

This game is toast. There is no hope in rockstar releasing it until next gen, The thing that pisses me off is they just wont go ahead and say it.

PirateThom4283d ago

I'd say they can't until Sony announce the PS4, once they do, then they'll reveal it for PS4.

Emilio_Estevez4283d ago

So stupid, it's very clear that R* just takes their time with games. They'll release something when they feel it's ready. If it's cancelled then they wouldn't be doing anyone any good by dragging the story on and not telling people.

thank-you emilio. Good points. You were great in Loaded Weapon.

R* gave Sony permission to announce it, then all of a sudden, R* acts like it doesn't exist or a concept now? I feel Sorry for Sony because that's embarrassing. And whats more embarrassing is Sony doesn't know anything about the title either, where its going, is it cancelled, is it next gen, multiplat or what? It's infuriating for me personally to see Sony having to go through this embarrassment.

ROCKSTAR one of Sony's long time Third party distributors. Has pretty much turned they're back on Sony this gen GTA 4 and original Exclusive to PS3, well as L.A Noir. What's happened to you R*?

In the long run it will Hurt Rockstar. I Gurantee you GTAV will probably be one of the worst selling GTAs. San Andreas on PS2 alone sold over 20million.

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing693d ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

andy852d ago

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all

I wished agent was revived so badly

Rockstar's game outpost has steadily declined since HD console gaming started . Hell, they were releasing new games every year since the PS2 launched, up to the start of the 7th gen.
