"Superheroes provide video game developers with some of the best characters they could ever hope for. They’re well-established, well-known and a large percentage of our hobby’s enthusiasts are well-versed when it comes to comics’ most triumphant protectors. Add in the fact that many kids grow up dreaming of being their favourite heroes, and you have the reasons why superhero video games release to such high hopes. Not to mention why it’s so disappointing when they end up being terrible, broken and/or uninspired."

From the Amazing Spider-Man series to the most recent titles and DLCs, explore which Spider-Man game deserves to be ranked first and why.
Spider-Man 2 (2004) and Ultimate Spider-Man use to be my favorite until Insomniac games took over.
My favorite and still champion Spiderman PS2, followed by Marvels Spiderman2, then Miles Morales, followed by Marvels Spiderman, and finally Ultimate Spiderman.
I need to drag out my PS3 and try Web of Shadows, owned the game for years and years and never played.
Spider-Man (2000), Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro, and Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions were all so good! I have fond memories playing them.
Reviews are finally out for Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and the game's Metacritic review score means Marvel still hasn't toppled DC.
The Arkham games are largely excellent, a shame they are being followed up by that god awful looking suicide squad game.
You can't expect a game to match 96-94 meta apple for apple. Different era and different gen. No need to diminish either game's achievement. Arkham City and Spiderman 2 are both amazing sequels that improved upon their already incredible first parts.
And right on cue, here comes the downplaying of Insomniacs masterpiece, not gonna work, this game is gonna be beast in success.
Batman Arkham Asylum is probably one of my favorite games and I would list as one the greatest I've ever played.
Agreed with 1,2 and 4. Others, I haven't tried.
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions does not belong on a "best of" list.
