Playstation Vita For $49.99 With 5 Trade Ins

Trendy Gamers: The good deals just keep on coming today. We reported earlier that you can currently pick up a Nintendo 3DS for as cheap as $95 today and in addition, you can also get a Playstation Vita for $49.99 as long as you don’t mind parting with some of your games.

I could easily do this. I just don't see myself playing on a portable at home, which is where I do 95% of my gaming.

I find I do a tonn of gaming at home on my vita. When I dont feel like getting out of bed or getting bored during commercial breaks I play a bit. Its worth it for just that alone, and I also find bus rides, waiting for food, and long work days go by in an instant when I have the time to pull the vita out. Never thought id use it but I always do.

I use my vita at my place sometimes. It all depends on how interested you are with the Vita. Don't buy something just because there is a deal. If you ever do want a portable I would strongly recommend a Vita.

ever since I got my vita it has swayed my opinion on console gaming. It changes everything up and is worth giving a second thought about imo.

I got rid of my original DS and PSP with the disc games and got the Vita for 32 dollars with a 16GB card. I had no need for the old systems anymore so it was well worth it. I will love the vita even more when I can play my PS1 games on it...

The list of games to trade in is on that page. For some reason Future Shop made it an unadvertised deal, but pick any 5 games from the list on the page and take them into your local store.

The list is like six games possible or something. Do you have a complete listing for it? I go from the link and it is talking about an iPod, so I click on possible 360 game trade ins and it lists six games.

Hate to break it to you guys, but this isn't exactly a good deal when you look at the numbers. Considering that most of the games are relatively new on that list, unless you manage to have old games squeak by on the list.

Let's say you've got these games new, you paid $59.99 for them. With HST being 13% (in Ontario, anyway) you paid $67.78. So $67.78 for five games is 338.90. An additional $50 makes that $388.90 for the console alone!

Short-sighted it's a good deal but in the long run, you're paying more for the console than you would have if you just bought it outright.

By contrast, the console alone is 249.99, $282.48 after tax. Even if you didn't purchase the games new, that's still almost a $100 difference.

Let's be more logical and say you have five games worth twenty bucks a piece as trade-ins, which is pretty good for a trade-in. That is one hundo, then you add fifty. You sold five games you probably didn't want and paid a small amount beside that for a pretty cool little device.

We are talking about trading in titles like Army of Two, All Pro Football, Dark Sector, Lost and Beowulf. You can throw in some better games, but do you get the point?

That being said, the whole hassle is giving me a headache even thinking about it.

In UK you could maybe get £10 for all those games put together. They are worth at most £2 each to trade in.

Let's be more logical and actually look at the list of games accepted for the trade in. None of the games you've listed off are on the lists.

Well then.

If it was any old game accepted, then it'd be a good deal, but these games are all relatively new. Games that you can sell for more cash if you listed them on Craigslist or Kijiji.

I gotta agree with Jeeves. All the games they are asking for are relatively new that would cost you $60.00 each.

@HonkyJesus Do you really thing they would accept the FIRST Army of Two and Dark Sector as trade-ins for a Vita? That actually made me laugh. If that were the case I'd give them my Wii Sports and Sonic Riders; Surely they'd take those too right?

Already have it though, paid $8 for it. Traded in my kinect, 360, games, etc.

Also took advantage of a bestbuy coupon, bought several copies of arkham city for $10 each, gamestop had a trade in deal for arkham city for $28.
