Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command reviewed by Eurogamer

Eurogamer's conclusion:

"So, there's a certain Is This It? to Squad Command. It could and should achieve so much more - but frankly it achieves enough by making a specialist subject matter and a specialist genre as fun and accessible as it does. Its twenty-minute missions and simple controls suit travel gaming well, and the online multiplayer gives it replay value the campaign doesn't bother with. Only war? Yep, and that'll do."

Score: 7/10

Turning a natively real-time game into a stripped down turn based game is never a good idea :\. I'm going to sell my PSP anyway, haha.

I'm still hoping for a port of Starcraft for PSP....

This game is fantastic on for a handheld game with a slight camera issue (no 360 degrees)

The gaming media have just become willing lackies to PR groups selling themselves like cheap whores. It's disgusting the level they've stooped to nowadays.

I honestly believe anyone looking to editorial reivews for proper info is a damned sheep of a fool.

The Games of Warhammer 40000 (GameXplain)

GameXplain: "This week is huge in terms of game releases. I'm not sure if I can remember the last time so many great titles were released at the same time. Between Dead Island, Disgaea 4, Driver: San Francisco, and Resistance 3, fans of just about every genre were covered. And yet, I can't help but wonder if one other game is getting wrongly overlooked. Warhammer 40000: Space Marine is a hyper violent action shooter that takes place within the tabletop game's universe, something that most gamers just aren't familiar with. And that's a shame because Warhammer 40000 has proved influential to gaming culture over the years."

TheRacingX4610d ago

I have both (collectors ed too btw), both are interesting AND fun, I'm new to the warhammer universe and these games caught me by surprise.....great lore and story and the action in these games is non-stop. I highly recommend to anyone into Gears, Unreal, Killzone, Vanquish, etc... a gem that should not be passed up.

Examiner Retrospective: Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command

Warhammer is a pretty rich, if not over the top universe, that is actually full of extremely interesting lore on par with universes such as those created by Blizzard, however, where Warhammer has a stranglehold on the Tabletop gaming industry, Blizzard knows perfectly well how to make exceptional gaming experiences. And while we all love a great story, sometimes an uneven balance or really not paying any mind to a balance in the first place can see a potentially great game wind up at the bottom of a gaming pile never to be seen or heard from the game - such is the case with Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command.
