PS Vita Review - Dungeon Hunter: Alliance [PSLS]

Thanks to its dungeon-crawling and loot-packing emphasis, isometric camera, and somewhat detached story, Dungeon Hunter will bring about comparisons to the PC’s Diablo. Perhaps more appropriately, given how much better these games usually are in multiplayer modes than single player, it should be compared to a few PS2 games such as Champions of Norrath or to a lesser extent Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows. No one will be telling their kids about Alliance‘s tale of the great king resurrected by a fairy who came back to reclaim his crown, and in the months and years to come, you won’t see it popping up in “Best of…” features. Just the same, it does have its niche, and for those people, it could provide a good experience. For most people, however, this is a game with little to no appeal. - PSLS

I for one am SHOCKED that a rehash of an iPhone game didn't turn out too well.

doctorstrange4477d ago

Definitely gonna wait for Warrior's Lair (Ruin)

stormeagle64477d ago

Just give me Plants vs. Zombies Vita. In fact, give me PvZ on everything (they're already well on the way there).

brettyd4477d ago

Whats the point of owning more than one version of PvZ?

GribbleGrunger4477d ago

i'm not convinced PvZ has hit saturation point yet. perhaps some Vita owners haven't got it

MmaFan-Qc4477d ago

i dont get it, the ps3 version is what ...13$ and the vita version is 40$?

wtf.

Studio-YaMi4477d ago

really ??
then they can go **** themselves !

saving my money on better psvita quality titles anyways

MmaFan-Qc4477d ago

yeah, Gravity Daze/Rush, Escape Plan and Wipeout2048 for me.

alexcosborn4477d ago

Sounds like one to pass on. With such an extensive launch lineup, there will be plenty of other games to keep Vita owners busy anyway.

MadMax4476d ago

Those are Vita graphics? Looks like an iphone game.

Studio-YaMi4476d ago

Don't know if you're being sarcastic...because this IS actually an iphone/ipad game ported to psvita which also was ported not so long ago to ps3 with move support.

So yeah, you should know why it looks like that

MadMax4475d ago

What would be the point of playing an iphone game on a Vita? To each his own i guess.

Studio-YaMi4475d ago (Edited 4475d ago )

Some games are great enough to be ported and make use of the vita touch screen capabilities

In example Planet VS Zombies
which is coming soon to PSVita

That game is great no matter what platform you play it on and it has been a true success on the Iphone/Ipad so I don't see how it's a bad thing to play it on PSVita,I am one of those people who are going to purchase it because it's worth it.

As for this game "Dungeon Hunter Alliance" it's just a bad example and in no way I'm going to be suckered again into buying this poor game.

But my point stands, just because a game is released on Iphone/Ipad doesn't mean that it's a bad game, some games are actually very good like Planet VS Zombies,Cut the Rope and Angry Birds which will work great with the vita touch screens, doesn't have to be a full fledged Vita game like uncharted golden abyss or Marvel VS Capcom 3 to be enjoyed and you can just consider those games (the Iphone/Ipad ports) just like playstation minis on PSN.

Sorry for the wall of text, just trying to prove my point here that's all.

Who comes up with these titles?

Great prices on those Vita games.

3-4-53712d ago (Edited 3712d ago )

Dungeon Hunter : Alliance & Raymond Origins for $7 each ?

These prices are actually awesome.

* Was thinking of getting a Vita soon, I might have to go get one tomorrow, as I was planning on picking up Dungeon hunter for sure.

How long does this sale last ?

barb_wire3712d ago

Is 'Dungeon Hunter: Alliance' any good?

'Rayman Origins' is tempting..

Yodagamer3712d ago

From what i've heard it's not bad but it's not great like a lot of gameloft games. There is a demo for it on the ps vita or ps3 if ya wanna try it on the big screen.

barb_wire3712d ago

There's a demo? Hmm, must've missed it on the store. Thanks for the heads up! I'll go download it and test it out.
