WB doing The Hobbit, Lego Batman 2, more in 2012; Mortal Kombat 10 on track for 2013

Warp Zoned writes:

"[T]he real focus was on WB's future, including their 2012 slate of games. Currently, the publisher plans to release The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey right around the same time as Peter Jackson's movie of the same name, Lego Batman 2 and a game starring an unnamed DC Comics superhero.

Oh, and a sidebar to the article revealed that the next Mortal Kombat game, Mortal Kombat 10, is expected to be released in 2013. Flawless news!"

I wonder if they will make Lego: The Lord of the Rings, eventually. I would definitely want that game.

Probably. Aside from that, I would also love to see a Lego Spider-Man game.

But most of all, I hope that WB green lights a Justice League game, made by none other than Rocksteady.

Ah, very good choice. I definitely agree with that.

just what i was thinking when sleeping and yesterday about a justice league game

but i always thought rocksteady should do a superman, green lantern and flash and other superhero games first then have them all interconnect to a justice league game

Anyone ever see the Hobbit cartoon that the picture is from? Excellent film.

I wonder what ridiculous VIP multi-pass WarnerBrosIA will cook up for these releases.

Just as I thought, unfortunately the game will be based on Peter Jackson's Hobbit rather than the Rankin/Bass film that the picture is from.

The games based on the LOTR movies were okay, but the art style of the Rankin/Bass films are still much more enjoyable to watch than the overdrawn Jackson films in my opinion. It would have been interesting to see if they could have brought that art style to a video game effectively using the technology we have now.

Review - The Hungry Lamb: Traveling in the Late Ming Dynasty (PC) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Oliver Shellding: "I feel The Hungry Lamb is for a specific audience, though I can’t quite align with whom that might be. It’s not thrilling enough to land in constant VN recommendations, it’s got uncomfortable relationships which will put most people off, and the endings never hit the high note that satisfies everything. The twists are pretty recognizable from a distance, the voice acting is good, the character designs are alright and the pacing is decent. So many things rubbed me the wrong way and it makes it very easy to delete it from my PC concluding the review. Dive in if you must because of morbid fascination, but you’ve been cautioned: it’s a downward spiral without anything to make the trip worthwhile."
