It’s not surprising that Treyarch’s big reveal event left many PC gamers less then impressed. While we were expecting the same experience and tools as the Call of Duties before MW2, we received news of a version that’s a little less exciting. That is not to say that the game play itself doesn’t look anything less then amazing, but the choices in servers and the tools to control our gaming experience seem more confining then DerangedPonie's Wife’s idea of “compromise”. With that said, lets take a look at how these changes will really effect the majority of PC gamers.
The video on Black Ops 1 shows some separate rooms, assets, and other features which exist outside of the boundary of the game.
From DownSights: "Black Ops is not Black Ops without Nuketown. Following the tradition of releasing Nuketown for Black Ops games, the new Black Ops Cold War game also offers a revamped Nuketown called Nuketown '84.
Nuketown '84 has the same dimensions and map layout except for the aesthetics. The map's aesthetics have changed to fit the 80s theme, with destroyed buildings and graffiti-filled walls compared to a clean 50s suburban neighborhood seen in Black Ops 1."
Jacob writes: "What do we have with the original Call of Duty: Black Ops? Quite simply, one of the best Call of Duty titles of all time."
It's not as worse as no dedicated servers, but not releasing public server files for personal use is the foundation for a strong community. *sigh*. Also having personal dedicated servers creates that "brotherhood" feeling you won't ever find anywhere else. (except WoW maybe...)
don't even buy the game! all other games give what the PC gamers want - freedom and mods but the last game didn't and this 1 will not too! so...why bother buying when there are tonnes of other games better than this and not so over-hyped, right?
guess what...the pc version will be the only 1080p, 1200p, 1600p native version out....
the console version will be 1024x640p...that right...640p upscaled...that's more than enough reason to pass on the console version, plus pc gamers get free mods, maps, and dedicated servers.....so, bitch all you want, it is still, by far, the absolute best version....
I will probably pirate it for campaign wont bother buying it. Games like this should not have PC limitations
