You may have heard there are more Xbox 360 retail units coming soon. Probably with it, you may also be hoping that Microsoft has finally figured out the Three Red Light failure, also known as Red Ring of Death (RROD). Don't count on it. If you thought the Xbox 360's problems were solved with the recent "Jasper" Xbox 360 unit (reduced power consumption 12.1 amp unit with 65nm CPU and 65nm GPU), they were not. Read on and see various RROD failures within the last week, including the recent "Jasper" Xbox 360.
Xbox 360 launched 18 years ago and was a generation-defining console that invited many people to jump into gaming for the first time and connect with friends around the world. We’re thrilled people continue playing their favorite Xbox 360 games on Xbox 360, or on newer consoles via Backward Compatibility for supported titles.
"we believe in game preservation"
Remember the media reaction when PlayStation wanted to shut down the PS3 store (but then kept it open)... where is that reaction here?
RIP Xbox 360 digital store and all its games.
It really grinds my gears that they are waiting till 10 days before closing to give the best discounts and the list as of now is 100 or less titles from the massive 360 library
I should have enough points by the weekend to get £25 credit off MS, (hardly ever spend money on xb1), might look at a few of these.
The Xbox 360 store was one of the only advantages the Xbox Series consoles had over the PS5. When I got my series X, I spent more playing Xbox 360 games vs current-gen Xbox games since that was the golden era for Xbox and several titles had enhancements such as 4k resolution and fps boost.
Closing this store will now only benefit the competition.
When the PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S first launched all the way back in 2020, console sales were not what either platform manufacturer wanted them to be. The pandemic slowed things down more than ever before, even though in the case of each next-gen console, all the units that were manufactured, sold.
Of course that didn’t last, and soon manufacturing limitations on the consoles were a thing of the past, and sales started to leap forward. For one next-gen console platform, at least.
I can see why Microsoft is putting their games on PlayStation with these numbers
Imagine how many copies of future games like Elder Scrolls VI, Blade, Indiana Jones and more they could sell if they went fully multiplatform.
Sony would probably be selling more if they stopped sending mixed signals about their future. Putting games on PC because you are taking data analytic advice from Microsoft about the future of consoles is folly and has limited their potential sales. Microsoft want Sony and the world to believe that consoles are done as a business so companies like Sony and Nintendo etc can end up serving Microsoft's platform. Remember when it comes to Microsoft "It is us or no one and the three E's" Don't fall for it.
Here's our guide to the best GPUs for V Rising in 2024, now that the game is out of early access - the best from Nvidia, AMD, and even Intel.
About to enter your 9th 360? When you're that much of a sucker, you don't have the right to complain anymore. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me 9 times, be gentle, and put it in slow.
8 xbox 360`s ? wow...
Has had 8 RRoD's
Hell that more RRoD's than the 3Shitsty has Exclusive's
You BoTs are a Gullible Breed
Seriously. You should have the maximum of TWO broken consoles, not that many, I wouldn't persist that much. How long do these people play on them for crying out loud?
I had two Playstations (lazer replaced in old one, counts as two to me), My PS2 still works, Two Dreamcasts, My XBOX is nearly dead (has problems reading drives) and the 360 and PS3 are fine so far. Knock on wood.
I'm on my 4th and soon to be 5th(the screen turns purple and freezes) and I still don't have one with an HDMI cable... Surprisingly though I've never had the RROD, I had two disk drives crap out on me and my launch system died a month after buying it because the graphics card fried. All were covered by the extended warranty btw.
On a side note I'm still sporting the original 60 gb PS3 almost 2 years after it's warranty expired!
