I suppose there are worse crimes than this, but there is a sort of masochistic glee in which JRPG fans partake in their vice. Perhaps we love grinding and crafting so much that we don’t really care about the story too much – despite our claims that we play these games for the tales they tell. Perhaps it’s the newness of the dungeons or the shiny equipment that makes the tedium of saving the world over and over remain novel. But, despite these tropes, this genre seems to continue on, and sometimes even with some of the most loathed archetypes and clichés, JRPGs can rise to heights other genres can’t.

Originally released back on the PS Vita in 2012, the HD remaster can still be forgiven for having very basic looking graphics, as back then that was all the little handheld console could master. However, with a sprinkle of magic developer dust, Falcom have at least tried to bring it up to modern-day standards, but visually at least, it still falls a little short.
Ys Memories of Celceta is now on PlayStation 4! It's an adventure not easily forgotten. Max checks out this Vita port to the PS4 to see if it still stands up.
COG writes: What we have in Ys: Memories of Celceta is a game that has dated graphics and an okay presentation, but phenomenal music and gameplay. This is one of the finest action JRPGs I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing.
Another great entry into the series I'm kinda shocked that if Ys Origin of all games is on consoles why cant see Oath in Felgana and 7 among others.
