Homosexuality in Star Wars: The Old Republic is separate but unequal

It turns out that Star Wars is some dystopian nightmare for homosexuals.

At least that’s how BioWare’s Star Wars: The Old Republic massively multiplayer online role-playing game paints it. When the developer launched the game, it provided 20 “romanceable” companion characters. Meaning, players can enter into relationships with them as they travel around the galaxy together. The problem is that the flirtatious dialogue options never appear for characters of the same sex, which completely prohibits homosexual couplings.

What was Bioware once known for?

Qrphe4120d ago

Awesome shit like Neverwinter Nights, Shattered Steel and Baldur's Gate, now they're nothing.

If you don't like it... don't play it? That or make your own. Just a thought.

I loved this game and have played since launch but don't let this article fool you, this game is a step above life support. While they are still technically updating the game, the updates are few and far between and there is a significant lack of quality control, so many little bugs that have been present for years.

The updates felt flimsy to me also. Stopped playing in 2021.

This game got a huge update last year didn't it with more content?

PapaBop394d ago

They promoted it as an expansion yet offered like 3-4 hours of content. The game is amazing and easily one of the best Star Wars games ever made but content drops are so few and far between.
