TMG: Sim City is pretty much dead and buried (save for the parts where it seems to work now), so I’d rather not start with an extended metaphor on the botched launch or series of lies that have been told to consumers about the product. Instead I want to talk about making a terrible place to stay, work, or live, and how that works in Sim Tower, a game from an earlier, simpler Maxis. A tower-building game. Before we talk about it as a whole, I thought I’d describe a typical situation for this tower.
Publisher Electronic Arts has shut down its legendary studio, famed for the long-running Sim series of titles. Here is why it will be missed
Well this is a shame.
EA ruined Maxis forcing them to make SimTown with all the bogus online requirements, and now closes the studio for not performing well.
Even though I don't think Maxis was the same company it was when it made the older Sims and SimCity games, those were still some of my favourites and I'll definitely miss the old them.
" Maxis' six most memorable moments"
Who the heck writes these crappy articles?
It's Maxis Emeryville that got closed, they were responsible for the latest Sim City and Spore game,
Maxis Redwood Shores is still active.
Cities Skylines is out in 5 days, will hopefully make up for the disappointment of the last simcity.
Now that the granddaddy of all Sim games is returning, Maxis should look into reviving some of SimCity’s strange grandchildren…
