Warp Zoned: Crimson Shroud Review: A Different Take on the RPG

Warp Zoned writes:

Crimson Shroud is a downloadable RPG from the 3DS eShop that was created by Yasumi Matsuno, a well-known Japanese designer who worked on Vagrant Story, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, and some Final Fantasy games (Final Fantasy XII being the most prevalent). The game is a traditional RPG, but plays more like a Dungeons & Dragons-style tabletop game than a typical video game RPG. With an all-star helming the project in conjunction with a studio like Level-5, did the experimental game work?

3DS is indeed the system for JRPG this gen.

Enate2895d ago

I haven't been really able to get into a lot of them on the 3DS. With the exception of Fire Emblem Fates and probably Monster Hunter Story when that comes out. All the other jrpgs I got plans for are on PS4.

FlorinEmil3212895d ago (Edited 2895d ago )

Sorry to say but the 3ds is not really the jrpg system.Check out the ps4 and ps vita JRPG games.

Of course there always people like you. PS4 hasnt proven itself yet with quality JRPG. Vita doesnt have more quality JRPG than the 3DS. I own both of those system.

1.4 for Ni No Kuni and those sales are only for Japan, so with WW sales it should be way higher.

deep_fried_bum_cake3896d ago

It says "Ni no Kuni sales for the PS3 and Nintendo DS version (Japan-only) reached 1.4 million sales worldwide.", so it's not just the Japanese sales.

1.4 for an RPG, is actually a lot in today's video game industry.

Also, Level-5 always release beautiful games.

Awesome! Ni no Kuni was amazing, this is great news. :D

no_more_heroes3896d ago

Ni No Kuni should have sold way more. It's that good. Easily the best JRPG I've played since Lost Odyssey.

Chaos_Raiden3896d ago

Congratulations, Level-5 for making a high quality RPG game.
