Dying Light is Techland's Second Chance at Zombie Horror | TGH

Vaughn from TheGamersHub writes:
"You may recognise the name Techland. It’s the studio behind Ubisoft’s Call of Juarez series, and more recently it’s generally associated with Deep Silver’s divisive hit Dead Island, and therefore known by many for – perhaps – not delivering the finest products to market. So, it was with a rather heavy dose of skepticism that I sat down to play through a preview section of their newest release Dying Light at this year’s Gamescom.

While on paper it doesn’t sound all that different – it’s a first-person zombie survival game where you can hack the zombies to pieces in open-world level design – there’s something about Dying Light that just completely outshines its spiritual predecessor."

I enjoyed Dead Island and Call of Juarez: Gunslinger

I loved both!!! Bought it and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon together for $15 on PSN last month.

I can understand why many didn't, but I enjoyed Dead Island on PC. It had some bugs, but the most memorable one was the item duplication trick. I was throwing my legendary katanas like they were knives.

This is the game I'm most looking forward to in the mental post xmas early 2015 release schedule. It looks fantastic, just the sort of game I enjoy. And yes, I enjoyed the Dead Island games too, warts and all.

I loved Dead Island and DIR.
What's with this 2nd chance??
I am looking for this to be their 3rd Zombie hit!

Because Dead Island isn't a horror game. It might be a good game, but it's not a good horror game.

It doesn't look like horror, from what we've seen it just looks like a toned down Dead Island. Which isn't all that appealing honestly.

I don't think Techland know how to do horror.
