Game dev berates gaming media on its “junior high school” analysis of PS4′s performance in Japan

What does one do to complain about the lack of truly insightful articles regarding the PS4 available for public consumption? Take to your Twitter account to protest, of course!

And that’s exactly what led Motoi Okamoto, a former director at Nintendo and current CEO and founder of Entersphere Co., Ltd., to go on a short Twitter rant over the span of about eight minutes.

A Nintendo employee defending the PS4!

This is why I love Japan.

Fullmetalevolust3561d ago

Lol, ouch?
some of those "journalists" are not market analysts...so perhaps a lil' schooling wouldn't hurt.

Corpser3561d ago

Wait til he sees the junior high analysis by n4g and gaf users!

Personally I think that Persona 5 and Tales of Zestiria should get PS4 versions! It's great that PS3 is still gonna be going strong in 2015 but PS4 desperately needs JRPG's to really get kick started in Japan.

thats Sony's job to attract japanese gamers and developers alike.
japanese devs will jump on board when the install base is big enough

Kurisu3561d ago

It's catch 22 really. Developers want to wait for a bigger install base, but it's games that help grow that install base.

It's true that console gaming is taking a back seat to mobile gaming in Japan, but that doesn't mean they aren't interested in the product. The Western Gaming Media just likes to feed the machine of controversy and push out as much click bait based articles as possible without giving any real in depth thought about what topic they are publishing about...it's literally just become a force of opinion nowadays.

The PS4 isn't selling well in the Japanese market, because there is simply no reason for it to. Most of the key developers on their side are still in the transitioning phase from last gen to current and the PS3 is still supported, sales will likely increase in 2015 though after some of the reveals at Tokyo Game Show 2014.

Personally I can't wait until the companies overseas start putting in work on the PS4. That's when the real fun begins.
