With Mario Kart 8's recent release a couple of weeks ago, a lot of people are picking up a Wii U console along with the game and if you're one such person, you might be wondering, what other exclusive games will be coming out this year for Nintendo's first HD system? Well there's nearly 30 true exclusives set to come to the console by the end of the year and nearly 30 more that are console exclusive.
The Nintendo Switch is potentially nearing its lifespan, and several Wii U games haven't found their way over as ports yet.
I think it's better to leave games like AC: Amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash forgotten on the Wii U. Best case, they are mediocre games; worse case, they are very bad. It was a dark time for the Wii U, and the first only exists to sell Amiibo cards, whereas the second was put together in a couple of months with a shoestring budget, and it shows.
The rest of the list does have some really cool games, though. I would love to see a remake of Star Fox Zero with decent controls, and Xenoblade X doesn't require that much modification to work.
This article leaves out Nintendo's most controversial game to date devils Third.
I personally found the cover system really fun in that one compared to at the time most fps games completely lacking one.
Kirby is always ignored or forgotten by people, so good to see it mentioned here.
Play Kirby Canvas Curse on DS, and then play Rainbow Curse on Wii U, they're really fun and unique 'platformers' without any actual jumping.
Hanzala from eXputer: "The cruel hammer of Nintendo has fallen. Farewell, 3DS and Wii U, you surely brightened my life and many others; you won't be forgotten."
A new list goes over eight of the the most useless amiibo, ranging from the Shadow Mewtwo card to the Qbby figure.
Even though the third-party front is lacking; that's pretty darn awesome. I guess it really is going to be the next Gamecube; which isn't a bad thing because that thing had some amazing games.
Shovel Knight looks cool, gonna look into it
I'll be getting Captain Toad. Hyrule Warriors - I'll wait for reviews, has to be better then Dynasty Warriors. Not sure about Super Smash, never been a fan of fighting games. Local multiplayer sounds like it might be fun.
Does anyone know if Super Smash is split screen in multiplayer. I hate split screen.
Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule warrior!
That list is cool but maybe ONE Indie game appeals to me per year. Captain toad, Smash, Bayonetta, Hyrule Warriors, X, Yoshis wooly world, And Zelda U are the only titles i am interested in. That is actually a lot of games, but i like shooters and more adult third person action games like, lost planet, dead space, GTA, and Tomb Raider. Without titles like those, more than just Bayonetta, I will always be forced to purchase an XB1 or PS4 to play games like that. I am a Nintendo fan first, but it would be nice if they could keep up the third party titles i got to enjoy when this system launched like the CODs, Zombii U, Batman, and Assassins Creed. I want more of a reason own only my Wii U. But like i said i will always support them, just stating my wishes.
