Xbox One Should Always Be Sitting Horizontally

JPS Writes: "We told you back in August that Microsoft warned against standing your Xbox One vertically, not because of cooling issues but due to the different type of disc drive used in the system. Now that I’ve gotten my hands on the console, I thought I would repeat that message once again."

You don't want it to be like the Xbox 360 disk-eating slim.

This is extremely old news

Agent_hitman3795d ago

Some journalist and gamers are finding it hard to believe that x1 should always be setting vertically.. Makes me wanna say this famous hashtag from former MS employee #dealwithit

ziggurcat3795d ago

Who's dumb enough to stand the xbone, which is clearly not designed to stand upright, upright?

Godmars2903795d ago

Anyone who doesn't know about this when every other console they own is upright.

Picnic3795d ago (Edited 3795d ago )

The original PS2 is probably the only console that has ever been pictured with a stand implying that it's OK to put it upright. It was a bit of a gimmick to make it stand tall and proud. No other consoles has been specifically designed or officially pictured to be stood up.

"No other consoles has been specifically designed or officially pictured to be stood up"

Go Google Xbox 360. Now.

Godmars2903795d ago

Does anyone really remember what the original Xbox 360 looks like? without having to Google that is.

SilentNegotiator3795d ago

I think "ignorant to the fact" is a thousand times more appropriate here than "dumb enough" since last gen was all consoles that could be set vertically.

You're right about consoles being able to be stood vertically I have now found. I just would never do it.
Maybe you could not shout orders at people though - unless you want them all to be 'silent' in their thoughts.

NihonjinChick3795d ago

All consoles should. I had a bad experience with someone knocking over my vertical console when I was playing a game.

Never again.

KingDadXVI3795d ago

I had the same experience so mine are always horizontal now. It may look cool or even fit your situation better but I really did not like the chance of the thing falling over again.

DeadIIIRed3795d ago

Yep, my gf loves cats and cats hate vertical consoles. RIP my fat PS3

Audiggity3795d ago

Ugh. Cats. A video to explain cats: http://www.youtube.com/watc...

So, yeah, politely invite the cat to leave your home upon technological damage. Remind the cat that it serves no purpose in this world unless it can produce YouTube videos, or at least hilarious .gifs.

quinten4883795d ago (Edited 3795d ago )

This console cant even stand up to the PS4. haha

tarbis3795d ago (Edited 3795d ago )

Well, not even to the PS3, Wii or Xbox 360.

evil6eric9912m ago

It has a mediocre player review on Steam, sitting at "Mixed" with 67% out of 173 players leaving positive reviews...not bad but definitely not "The Best Metroidvania You Never Played".

Brocula review - Games Asylum

Games Asylum: "After a car smashes into a notorious vampire’s castle, rudely interrupting their 500-year slumber, the fanged-fellow awakens in the modern era to find that a bustling city has been built around their now-crumbling abode. Try as they might, Brocula – as they’re known – must now adapt to the modern way of living, paying his extortionate rent bill by working part time jobs at the city’s garage, coffee shop, and restaurant – much to the blood sucking brute’s chagrin."
