BD writes: "I’m amazed and ashamed that I never picked up Fatal Frame the first time through, and so I probably don’t have any rose-colored vision through which to view it. However, the game is solid and different – and also much better than 99.9% of all horror and/or survival horror games ever – so it deserves a playthrough, especially if you want to consider yourself well-played. Sir."
Today, KOEI TECMO America is pleased to announce that its remastered classic, FATAL FRAME: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, is now available digitally for Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC at via Steam.
Full of frights, spooks, and claustrophobic journeys, the Original Xbox has what will quench the thirst of every horror fan.
Such a shame that they never ported Fatal Frame II: Director's Cut to anything else. The added ending is by far my favourite.
Fatal Frame 1&2. Its a horrible shame those two original xbox games never got backwards compatible for series consoles. Horrible
Fatal Frame, 20 years Later By the early 2000s the modern definition of “survival horror” had been established thanks to the success of games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill.
Grabbed the first two for PS3 on the cheap over Amazon on the cheap a couple weeks ago.
Haven't actually played either yet.
I hope they make a next-gen Fatal Frame game....
Fatal Frame is great stuff but the sequel, Crimson Butterfly, is off the charts in terms of the scares. To date, the sequel is the only game that ever gave me nightmares and IMHO, one of the best horror games of all time. It just has a way of getting under your skin that I can't explain.
this is one series i wouldn't mind double dipping if they released a HD remake or Definitive version...
damn you Nintendo for doing nothing with it...
I nearly crapped myself when I first tried it. One seriously creepy game.
