umm ground zeroes will launch on both gens but only one gen gets a disc version, at least here in america.

Nyxus3796d ago

For now, but that may change. The upgrade program is just for digital PS4 games anyway.

sashimi3796d ago

No, The upgrade program is for both Physical and Digital games. Why you talking about stuff you know nothing about.

_FantasmA_3796d ago

Its for physical and digital son. Go to your room, you're grounded for lying.

Yodagamer3796d ago (Edited 3796d ago )

I believe Nyxus was referring to the ps4 version being digital only regardless of the ps3 game being digital or physical. Edit: saw his later post explaining it.

Rockefellow3796d ago

I can't believe all of these people, who are so quick to chastise, can't even be bothered to read what you wrote properly.

Unless they're getting a physical copy of whatever PS3 game they're upgrading for the PS4 instead of a digital copy-- then I'd like to know how they do that.

If not? Go back to elementary school and get some goddamned reading comprehension, you barely-literate jerks.

guitarded773796d ago

sashimi and _FantasmA_ you guys are straight up rude. It's one thing to argue a point, but you do it like 12 year old boys trying to assert some kind of pre-pubescent dominance. Nyxus' later comment clears up what he was saying. If it is confusion, it's based on what he heard from the PS Blog. When dealing with multiple regions it can sometimes get confusing. You can correct that confusion without being jerks.

I'm glad they are keeping this going.

moodgamer3796d ago

As great as it is, I want my PS4 games in a disc.

Nyxus3796d ago

@ sashimi: This is from the official PlayStation Blog about the program: 'Get the PS4™ digital version of select games for a discounted price when you buy the PS3™ version.'

The PS3 game can be a disc, the PS4 game will be digital. Which is what I said. Try again.

KillerPwned3796d ago

Here is to really praying a psychical edition of MGS 5 GZ comes to the US especially a limited edition.

KingDustero3796d ago

I honestly don't know why everyone is making such a big fuss about GZ being digital only only on nextgen in the US. I agree having a physical game to hold and display is nice. In the end though the game is just installed on our HDD either way, one just requires a disk to be in the system.

To me this isn't a problem at all.

medman3796d ago

It isn't a problem for you until something happens and it becomes a problem...such as the network going down or your data becoming corrupted. Or how about simply being able to trade it back when I'm finished with it toward the purchase of another game? I do that quite often, many times getting back 30 or 40 bucks depending how long I've kept the game. Can't do that with a digital copy, so that's money out the window and fewer games I can buy. That is not the future to me.

Dirtnapstor3796d ago

PS4 does not play off the disc. So it wouldn't matter if the network was down or if your drive was corrupted or if your file was corrupted. Reinstall city! Sucks considering the large file sizes. Essentially the disc is the game key.
The ability to trade your game is the only perk to having a physical copy.

admiralvic3796d ago

@ Dirtnapstor

You need to use some common sense.

Even if the PS4 doesn't play off the disc, the disc is still used to install the data. This is important, because the disc will make the game completely playable regardless of it reading from the disc or not.

The big issue people have with digital games at the moment, is the lack of security. If your network is slow or the network is down, then your games won't work unless you've already downloaded them. Also, given the size of "next gen" (or if it safe to say current gen now?) games... you can quickly fill a HDD (even an upgraded one).

Now with digital games, replacing something like Killzone (a 30+ gb game) will take you at least an hour to download. With the disc? 10 minutes tops.

There are still many advantages to having physical games beyond resale value.

dcj05243796d ago

And what happens if the disc scratches. Exactly.

Z_-_D_-_33796d ago

There's also the fact that it's not even a full MGS experience to begin with, simply a prologue.

MrSwankSinatra3795d ago

so then why is japan getting a physical release if it isnt a full MGS?

ALARM-clock3795d ago

Is many parts of the world there still isn't reliable internet access, and in some cases, no PSN support. A lot of big fans will miss out on next gen versions without physical copies.

Now we'll have to see how much the Master Collection will add to those numbers.

Number1TailzFan175d ago

Too bad it was a lazy release. They could've updated the visuals and everything. Missed opportunity.

Stanjara175d ago

...and yet, they couldn't give more respect and effort into the collection.
What a terrible company.

Minute Man 721175d ago (Edited 175d ago )

Are they counting every game?

Edit: they did

Nyxus175d ago

Yes, these are total lifetime sales of the entire series.

ApocalypseShadow175d ago

.... mostly with the help of PlayStation.

Yea I don’t get why they’re allowing old reviews to be posted here. Someone did one on Soul Reaver and I got so excited thinking there was some stealth release of an HD Remaster, but no… it’s just someone who had a slow day posted an old review…

Cacabunga191d ago

I liked the game but for me it felt somehow like a military simulator rather than a proper MGS.. i got bored of that

micdagoat19191d ago

I do wish they would remaster all the soul reavers

micdagoat19191d ago

it was done this morning though

goldwyncq191d ago

The author was in a coma for 9 years and didn't get to play the game when it released.

Chocoburger191d ago

This review arrived just in time for launch. Perfect timing!

RupeeHoarder191d ago

Amazing how bad this game looks already. We keep acting like this gen doesn't feel like an update but I think we're starting to see it.

YourMommySpoils191d ago

Looks better than Starfield, Cyberpunk and most recent games out. Still fine.

RupeeHoarder191d ago

It most certainly does not lol.

andy85191d ago

Have you player Cyberpunk since the first day? It's absolutely stunning now

1nsomniac191d ago

One of the worst games ever made. Absolute overhyped trash!

Snowb420191d ago

The gameplay was great. It was the tacked on open world and repetitive missions that messed the game up.

Shane Kim191d ago

The game started really strong in that hospital, but after a couple of hours I wondered if it was even an mgs game I was playing.

KyRo190d ago

The hospital section was the only bit that felt like a MGS game.

MGS4 was the ending for me. I totally ignore the fact 5 exists. It didn't need to exist tbh
