Xbox One Launch Event “More of a Celebration” than a News Event, Better Keep Expectations in Check

The PS4 launch event last week brought quite a few of interesting news to the table, like the release date of inFAMOUS: Second Son and the tease of an Uncharted game for PS4, so it's not surprising that many have big expectations for tonight's invite-only Xbox One launch event.

If you have to believe host Geoff Keighley, though, you aren't going to get much in term of news

they have nothing to show cause they would have done it Sony style if they had anything.
they showed everything they got for the next year or 2 during E3.
Sony keeps dropping bombs every now and then, PS3 is going very strong getting lot of support and Vita as well

After watching last week you can bet my expectations are very low, so low I'm skipping this one.

I think MS has enough launch stuff they don't have to pad the event talking about games coming months/years later.

last week event did not feel like a look at the future, but a hands on with available features and games (and games coming early next year).

Yeah but I suppose it was a bit silly of us to expect some reveals at these events. I mean..Jump Festa is coming in a month and GDC soon after that. Sonys was very poor for us over expectant gamers, and MS's one will be too.

That is the point gamingisnotacrime. The launch events aren't for us. They are there so people can play everything we already know about

I'm guessing they'll get higher numbers than PS4 launch, considering they're launching in far more places on day one.

Makes sense & if it doesn't, I'll be surprised.

As for the event, if they're having a Killer Instinct tournament, it'll probably end up being a blast for the people there.

Halo 5 will be there probably, unless they're saving it for later events.

That's is why I am not investing in in x1, I get the felling we will get a similar problem to wiiu and not see many games for the next 12 months.
