GTA Online Stimulus Package Is Finally Rolling Out, But Is It Too Little Too Late?

Dealspwn writes: "GTA Online feels like the ghost of Los Santos, without enough simultaneous players or varied missions to provide much in the way of soul. Many players - including some of our regulars - have already found themselves tired of the awkward middle ground between fully-fledged MMO and empty theme park. There's fun to be had when you get online with a crew of mischievous mates, but it can be so very fleeting."

Pretty much I got my $ last nite but with the cash glitch 500k is pretty much nothing cause ppl just use the lsc glitch and make way more $ that way

Blues Cowboy3823d ago (Edited 3823d ago )

As much as I hate that logic, I can't argue with it! Still, a few players will probably get back online to rank up and actually unlock some of the pricier stuff.

J-R3823d ago

It is still missing features and I have lost interest in it. With next-gen just 7 days away there is there is no point in trying to get back into GTA5.

OhhWerd3823d ago

i find its just ridiculous to have to pay $500 each time you die.

Yes money can be made in this game, but along the way your gonna die multiple times. It all starts adding up.

Look at all the other multiplayer games, you aren't charged anything when you respawn. Just another way rockstar can get money from you to get you to possibly purchase more money from them.

I got 8 days till my ps4 arrives, and 7 days after that my xbox one. thats about how long rockstar may have my attention to their game.

Blues Cowboy3823d ago

Most MMOs have some sort of penalty for dying, such as a one-off fee or durability - clearly that's their inspiration. Personally, I'm more annoyed by the fact that destroying personal vehicles is frowned upon. This is GTA for goodness' sake! Destroying vehicles is the whole point!

And don't get me started on bounties. That system needs a total overhaul.

JetsFool35003823d ago

I can understand paying for the car you blow up but the bad sport system is so flawed

OhhWerd3823d ago

yea i find that annoying too, one game i logged in, to be instantly assaulted by 2 high level guys in a car. after 5-6 deaths, i finally managed to get hidden behind something and bomb the dudes car, only to lose 12k (all the money I had) to insurance for this guys car. Yes i know, this is gta, i'm supposed to get killed, but something needs to be reworked with the system, if im getting griefed upon with no prior provocation towards individuals, i should not be charged for killing them or their car.

rdgneoz33823d ago

500 is a lot better than it was before with 2k a death. A little fun in the open world would set you back a while. But yah, a little bit late on their part. New systems will be rolling out starting next week, and they haven't even gotten Heists out.

Blues Cowboy3823d ago

Yeah I think that's the key really. We need more stuff to do, and to make our continued play worthwhile!

jay23823d ago

Yes, it's VERY easy to get 500K

Thar she blows! That be a whale!! Let's talk to them mateys!

phoenixwing33d ago

@disagrees
Didn't have a good rebuttal did you? We all know the select players are whales who waste thousands or hundreds of thousands on the games currency. You expect them to make the same kinds of demands as everyone else? Keep dreaming.

Inverno32d ago

Well that and most likely streamers who have helped harpoon all those whales lolz.

Why is this news? Is this supposed to be some sort of heads up to those involved?

Kombatologist39d ago

Why shouldn't this be news? If you play the game at all, you'd know this has been a problem for a while. Tell me, how is it fair for legit low-level players to be grieved by players using modded accounts with disposable amounts of cash? It's about time Rockstar did something about these losers.

BISHOP-BRASIL39d ago (Edited 39d ago )

Not that I really played it in forever, but the way I used to roll on online once I realize I had no interest in actually doing heists and micromanaging property and shit, the moment someone decided to pick a fight I'd just leave towards north, jump the fence of the army base, steal a jet and grief away... Pro tip: they can't really make you pay for other players cars when you have not one single penny to your name.

EDIT: Got carried away... Anyway, my point was, you can grief without money, this is not stopping it.

Kombatologist39d ago

@BISHOP-BRASIL

I get what you're trying to say, but it's a false equivalence. Anyone could jump the fence and grab a jet back in the day. The dynamic changed once R* started introducing militarized vehicles, such as flying motorcycles with homing rockets, a stealth helicopter, and most recently, a stealth jet. There's so many militarized vehicles now, you really have to keep up with the latest and greatest in order to defend yourself from that shit, which is really expensive to do. Sure, you could make the argument that Shark Cards give players the same advantage as a modded account. The thing is, they don't. Not even close. A modded account can have ANY amount of money, as well as ANY weapon and/or vehicle, even ones that aren't available in the game yet (as long as they're in the datafiles). Some of them even have glitched characters with invisible limbs/weapons. This is an unfair advantage to anyone who plays legitimately and nobody should have to risk getting their accounts permanently banned from stooping to the same level just to compete. Furthermore, making money is really easy to do now. Which begs the question: Why buy a modded account in the first place? I think the answer is obvious.

So this is news because a Twitter guy says so :)
