KT:Nintendo has to compete with two more machines this fall, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, both launching in November. It's part of Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime's job description to be unfazed by that. Here's his take on the pending competition:
PlayStation platformer Astro Bot impressed former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé.
Oh yeah it’s certainly a special one. I think Astro Bot 2 is gonna be a big one, the one for the books as they say.
I also hope Team Asobi expandes thanks to the massive success of Astro Bot and works on another IP, they are just too good.
Reggie writes: "@thegameawards is the biggest global entertainment event of our time, now shockingly bigger than @NFL's Super Bowl. Well done, @geoffkeighley"
.
It’s such an akward show. I watch it to see if there is any good reveals. Some great ones this year but that’s not always the case.
to be fair, the superball is mostly watched in america. not the world.
but this year was really good. but damn was it a long damn show. especially in europe
The way that was calculated was misleading. The Nielsen ratings are not straight forward. Length of viewing was way longer on superbowl. Game awards were basically just watched during the windows where there were game announcements.
When ex-President of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aimé, showed off a portion of his N64 collection on social media, we suspect he probably wasn't anticipating a wave of offers from potential buyers.
Why should he sell his collection? It's his collection if he wants to sell then that is his decision maybe he wants to save it as a nest egg or pass it down to his kids. That's like asking the AVGN to sell his giant collection plus the Nintoaster. Or like asking Jay Leno to sell his car collection. Collectors like to brag, show off, and explain the history or the rarity. Be lucky Mr. Ex Predisent even gave you a glimpse of his collection.
Quest 64, I brought that dumpster fire day 1.turned me into a die hard square enix and PS fan.Gawd that game was horrible.
"I think consumers buy hardware because of the experiences they can have on them. That's why, for us, having a strong holiday line-up is so critically important."
So why haven't you being doing this for the last year.
""Systems that generate pretty pictures by themselves aren't selling propositions," he said, "and all you need to do is look at the last generation to see the evidence. And that's true whether you look at the home console space or the handheld space. It's not about the graphics by itself. It's about the entire experience."
True, I agree to a point. But things still have to look "cool". That is how advertising works. Show something that plays "cool" looking things and it will sell. Explosions are cool to a lot of people. Pretty looking things are cool to a lot of people.
I thinks Wii U has a nicer Holiday lineup than ps4 and x1. Im interested in literally every game. Still all the consoles look pretty great. May the best game system win!
so what was the wii u? :/ because that hasnt seemed to have sold all to well... if they talk about experiences then sure they have games but a lot of people want infamous, they want dead rising, so just because you have mario doesnt mean nobody wants to play other games.
Not quite sure Nintendo should be giving advice to MS and Sony right now....
