I am gonna be busy come Tuesday. Tales of Xillia for my good ol' PS3 and Dragon's Crown for My Vita. :)

FamilyGuy3920d ago

Tales is single player so I'm gonna hold out on that purchase, it's gonna be all Dragon's Crown for me.

Fantastique review!

This game has really gotten universal acclaim and I am so glad it does.

Every time I see the Elf she reminds me of Link and how great a cute but bad ass couple they could be.

CaptainPunch3920d ago

Game looks great, feel like it's going to be an underrated title. Can't wait to play it soon.

MadMax3920d ago

Great game and im not a fan of rpg games, but the art style is what caught my attention on this game. Looks great on the PS3, i wouldve bought it for the Vita, but heard its a little too chaotic and hard to keep track on whats going on when playing it on the Vita.

After playing it on the PS3 for a few hours, i can see what they mean. Keep that in mind if your on the fence with what version to get. Framerate and slowdown problems will occur on the Vita version too. Not to mention, you cant have a friend over to join in. Had a blast with my girl playing this! Still might try it on the Vita one day.

oNIXo3920d ago

Most reviews of the game say that the Vita version is the better of the two, and that both are identical. Where are you getting the framerate and slowdown problems from? Sounds like you haven't played the Vita version.

MadMax3920d ago

PS3 version i think might be a bit better in terms of playing a game like this on a big screen. Dont get me wrong, i would like this on the Vita as well but when you play this game you will see what i mean about things getting chaotic on the screen with all the combat. I have heard its kinda hard to really concentrate on your character.

Yes, they may look identical but the Vita version apparently has framerate problems that appear on screen when things get hectic. I have read this in several reviews and have been hearing from peeps that own the Vita version. Look it up online if you dont believe me.

Not to mention, you will be limited when it comes to multiplay on the Vita version. No co-op unless you know someone with a Vita. I have heard online play chugging down too. Still would like to give it a try though. Having a blast with the game! Muramasa on the Vita is tight too!

MadMax3920d ago

This is directly from one of the many reviews i keep reading about.

It’s not the four players on screen or the massive deluge of attacks and numbers that can overwhelm the game, but rather the overuse in spellcasting. One wizard or sorceress can usually make it through just fine, but when you run a full party of them through a dungeon, things can get pretty dicey once those full-screen blizzards come around. Not once did the game lock up or freeze during these heavy magic sessions, but the framerates did occasionally dip down pretty low. This is an issue that seemed to pop up more during the PSVita version of Dragon’s Crown than on the PS3.

oNIXo3919d ago

Ahhh, okay. And finding people with a game on the Vita isn't as hard as you make it out to be. In every game I've gotten on the Vita I've been able to find players. In fact, most of my friends on PSN play the Vita like 90% of the time. The party chat is great, and we like chatting with each other.

Nice to see the underdogs competing with the big boys. On pace to be a cult hit, going off of Atlus' sales tweets and reviews like this.

Why mention PS5 when talking about PS3

334d ago
Magog334d ago

The load times in retrospect are unbearable but I did have hella fun playing couch co-op with my gf on the PS3 and PS2.

anast334d ago

Couch co-op is the best alternative.

Rynxie334d ago

Resistance 2 co-op was amazing! I wish they would remaster resistance 1-3 and killzone 1-3 for the PS5.

Let me save you the time to scroll down no Warhawk or Starhawk, 2 of the best co-op games on PS3

I have a friend who still has a sealed copy of Folklore. I’m sure it’s worth more now than it was when it released but I’m not sure how much more.

Bought it for $5 at Walmart. I have yet to play it. But I did open it to look at it. Heh.

phoenixwing1125d ago

the game is actually good. I'd rather buy and play it than keep a sealed copy

Indigon1125d ago

Yeah I gave my brother my PS3 for free with a lot of games but I kept Folklore.

Teflon021125d ago

Folklore is an amazing game. Should have bought 2 copies. 1 to play and one to keep

Seraphim1125d ago

yeah I still have a sealed copy of Folklore too. I almost never do this but I had originally rented it. One day I saw it for like $20 at Walmart so picked up a copy. Always meant to re-play it but just never did. I think in part because it never got trophy support[?]. It was an interesting and unique game that didn't get the love it deserved.

I see Trails of Cold Steel II is tagged. Not sure where PS3 prices sit but the PS4 version of both Trails I and II were around $140 as recently as a little over a month ago. Ended up buying both of them digitally then buying III and IV on disc. Shame I kept putting off buying them. Just a couple months prior you could still get them both for about $45 each. Anyway I'm almost finished with II and hopefully be playing III and IV next.

Petebloodyonion1125d ago

I would suggest using price charting to evaluate the value of a past game.
https://www.pricecharting.c...
value for the game new is 60$

Hawk1986661125d ago

Its not worth much, about £20.

monkey6021125d ago

I want Folklore. I've been trying to find it for some time now. It's one of the only games set in Ireland so I've been busting to play it some time

And wait for emulation and/or till their PS3 dies?

franwex1125d ago

3D Dot Game Heroes is a cool game that may soon go up in price too. I enjoyed it.

Indigon1125d ago

That's one that has been quite hard to find for some time.

Godmars2901125d ago (Edited 1125d ago )

At least you didn't own ALL Panzer Dragoon entries only to sell them all on ebay.

Don't talk to me about seller's regret...

nommers1125d ago

I'm so glad I kept my copy of this game.

Soy1125d ago

Great game, lots of fun - and definitely tougher to find. I'm glad I kept mine.

Teflon021125d ago

Glad I still have it. One of my fav games that gen

PS1, PS2 and PS3 BC right now is pointless. The top games are extremely overpriced or aren't available anywhere anymore. The best that can happen is Sony putting all the games on the PSN and/or PS Now. That way we all can play the classics, with trophies and some optimizations.

Godmars2901125d ago

Pointless, unless you have a 2st stage production model PS3.

One have to get fixed, but still, I've got it.

gold_drake1125d ago

exvuse me
i still play games on my ps2.

Gardenia1125d ago

That's because you only think about yourself. 90% of gamers don't have PS1, PS2 or PS3 games lying around. What do think is going to happen when there is BC and games like Vagrant Story, MGS, Suikoden 2 will be on sale? The few that are will be sold for hundreds of Euro's/Dollars.

Digital is the only option for everyone to be able to play those games.

gold_drake1125d ago (Edited 1125d ago )

ooff yea im only thinking about myself by playing my ps2 games haha.
the whole point about my reply was that, BC is not pointless. alot of ppl still have their old games mind you.

HankHill1125d ago

Nobody agrees with you so I guess you're the one only thinking about themself.

TheColbertinator1125d ago

Still have the Neptunia box sets unopened. Every year they get more valuable
