PS4: 'We've Only Scratched The Surface'

NowGamer: "Since the PS4 reveal event we've heard nothing but positives from developers as they praise just how easy to develop for the PS4 is.

So it's probably not a surprise to hear that Guerrilla Games is also quite keen on Sony's PS4."

I expect great things from Guerrilla Games in the coming years, I can't beleive how good Killzone Shadow Fall looks and it's just a launch title. Imagine how other first party developers are going to make games look on the PS4 a few years after its release.

abzdine3998d ago

the day GG listen to the fans feedback from the latest Killzone games i am sure they can make the best game ever. they have the competences for and they know how to squeeze what Sony consoles have under the hood.

Bathyj3998d ago

Its not even a launch title at this point. Its a pre launch alpha demo.

Expect big improvements. PS3 games had a habit of getting a big visual upgrade in the last couple months of development. I expect this trend to continue on PS4

ajax173999d ago

Guerrilla Games are great and all, but only Naughty Dog will showcase something truly spectacular.

The Meerkat3999d ago

I'm sure Crytek will claim to have 'Maxed it out' very soon.

dirthurts3998d ago

To be fair, using PC architecture which most devs will be very familiar with, the next consoles will probably be utilized and optimized very quickly.
I would say within two years or so.
Although, artistic ability goes a long ways after that.

sourav933998d ago

But you have to remember, most devs out there, at least muliplatform devs, won't optimise to the metal. Only first party devs will unleash the true power of the console. This goes for any platform really, be it PS4, Xbox 720 (Infinity, Fusion, etc) or the Wii U.

Gamesgbkiller3998d ago

Typical thing to say since the console isn't out and its their first game on PS4.
Its a great thing,thought

Guerrilla Games' Multiplayer Horizon Game Could Be Named "Hunters Gathering," Teases Leak

Guerrilla Games' upcoming multiplayer Horizon title could be dubbed "Hunters Gathering," according to a new leak.

Jin_Sakai128d ago (Edited 128d ago )

I wish PlayStation Studios would just stick to what they do best, making great single player games.

Outside_ofthe_Box127d ago

The core gameplay of Horizon is really good, so this is one of the few I can see working out. Also GG does have one of the greatest multiplayer games ever made in Killzone 2 under their belt so MP isn't too far off with what GG does best.

SyntheticForm127d ago

Hell, I enjoyed Shadowfall's MP thoroughly even though it had issues. Guerrilla have delivered solid multiplayer experiences.

Cacabunga126d ago

Oh boy. No idea why they don't want to work on a killzone it's a much more fun multi mode. -

__SteakDeck__126d ago

@Jin_Sakai First. As a business, you don’t just stick to what you do great. If that was the case, Apple would of just done computers and not taken a risk with iTunes and the iPhone. Also have you seen the cost of their AAA games like Spiderman 2? Sony is going to need one of these GAAS games to hit, or expect budget cuts to their SP games. We’re already seeing in the document leak, that they’re asking Insomniac to cut budgets.

Jin_Sakai126d ago

Their studios aren’t masters at GaaS and it’s showing. Naughty Dog wasted all that time and Resources just to cancel Factions and Insomniac's multiplayer Spider-Verse got axed. If Sony really wants a big GaaS hit their best bet would be to acquire EA or Epic Games. You need huge support to keep these games going with content and updates.

purple101127d ago (Edited 127d ago )

OHH GOD YES,, or at least some new shooter. finals was okay but I want more, spesh from 1st party

DaleCooper127d ago

Meh. You know what could be good? A new Killzone.

Magatsuhi127d ago

Hope it's not battle royale.

anast127d ago

It would be better than Monster Hunter, but I'm good with the Gaas stuff.

Up there with the top tier in the industry. Love Guerrilla Games - Horizon Burning Shores is simply STUNNING.

1Victor352d ago

Can’t wait for their next franchise

SullysCigar352d ago

Same. They nailed it with Horizon. The trouble is I also want a new Killzone! Can't I just have it all?!

jznrpg352d ago

I’m with you I want Horizon 3 , Killzone and new IPs

badz149352d ago

I have yet to play Burning Shores as I just started Forbidden West (bought at launch, just unwrapped last weekend LOL) and playing on PS5.

man...I still can't believe the graphics especially now I'm playing it on my LG OLED. that graphics and with stable performance backing it up, GG really is the master of their craft!

Vengeance1138352d ago

32.7M sales in the Horizon franchise! With 8.4M coming from Forbidden West alone! Truly a hugely successful game and franchise as a whole. Looking forward to Horizon III

Shane Kim352d ago

That's kind of a huge drop though. It's only been two games.

VersusDMC352d ago

One year after realease HZD sold 7.6 million.

https://www.noobfeed.com/ne...

So not a drop off.

Unless you're saying a HFW should have sold as much now as HZD sold in 5 years?

Vengeance1138352d ago

It's been 3 games, this includes Call of the Mountain. Also no, its a great improvement over HZD.

solideagle352d ago

lol you are comparing:

HZD: 28 February 2017 - May 2023 (6 years+)

HFW: 18 February 2022 - May 2023 (1 year+)

We will see if it surpass original number.

Phoenix76352d ago

@shane, 2 full main games, 2 DLC add ons, 1 VR spin off game, oh and a an official LEGO set.
Not too bad for an ip that's only been on market for 6 years

REDGUM352d ago

Wow, very impressive. I didn't know the numbers were so high for Forbidden West. Still playing through it myself

thesoftware730352d ago (Edited 352d ago )

Yooo, when I first saw that Killzone 1 footage at E3, my friends my brothers and I were like, Holy shit! When it came out, it didn't look exactly like it, but we sunk so many hours into 1 & 2.

I even liked Killzone: SF, it was a spectacle to look at, and even today it looks good. I hope they make a new one. Can you imagine how that will look, and they can get some modern FPS pointers from Bungie.

blacktiger352d ago

thank you fps lover, I'm with you

talocaca352d ago

Such a wonderful studio. They deserve all their success.

The Decima Engine is absolute 🔥 I'm just mad they have abandoned Killzone.

OzzY-waZZy352d ago (Edited 352d ago )

Kinda wish they move on from Horizon tbh.

potatoseal352d ago

They are probably working on mutiple projects. One of them is Horizon 3, but another is a multiplaer game and probably somehting else.

Imalwaysright352d ago

There were rumours that they were working on a Socom reboot.
