Need for Speed: Most Wanted Wii U, Where the hell are you?

TruTechNoid qoutes "Today (22/03/2013) i went to buy the newly released NFS: Most Wanted for the Wii U, I already have it on the 360 but wanted the Wii U version as a comparison piece for an article I was going to do. Actually getting the game in my hand turned out to be harder than I thought, first off I went to GAME the UK’s largest video game specialist and to my surprise it was not situated within the Wii U section"

i went to get mines at gamestop i preorderd it. they only had 1 copy, mines.
meaning if anyone else wanted it they were sold out after selling 1. XD

not sure if they have more now tho.
but my walmart doesn't seem to have it. i haven't checked anywhere else since i have mines already.

TruthbeTold4081d ago

I got mine from GameStop too. They actually had 1 copy for once when I wanted something. I hadn't preordered it, and apparently no one else had.

I'm sick of that Game Stop preorder Bull crap though.

'Did you preorder it? Oh... Well it might be a while.'

So what you're saying is, I should just order my games online and never shop here? O.k. If you insist.

Every time I've pre-ordered in the past, I felt like Chris Rock on 'Everybody Hates Chris' when the local thug bullied him out of money.

'Hey! Let me hold a dollar!'

When I had preordered Zombi U, then chose to wait on buying the Wii U, I preordered it a city away because there wasn't a GameStop in my town yet. A month and a half later, they opened one. Right before Christmas. When I finally did go to switch over the Preorder to another game because I bought the Zombi U bundle, I couldn't use my preorder in the store in my town. I had to drive to the next city over.

Screw that place.

Should have bought it on Origin while they had it for $30.

WiiUsauce4081d ago

have fun trying to play the game online while you're taking a shit (Wii U gamepad) on Origin.

Nevers0ft4081d ago

Holster that gun, he's not trolling ;) He's referring to the fact that EA had the Wii U version on sale for $30 on Origin (presumably mistakenly) for a day or two. The game also semi-forces you to sign up to Origin when you play it, which sucks - mainly because it would seem that every conceivable permutation of letters in the English language has already been used as an Origin username - eventually I just typed random crap, I have no idea what my Origin username is :/

guitarded774081d ago

Thank you Nevers0ft... they had it up for $30 for a couple of days, and I know a few people who got in on it. I was gonna get it, thinking the sale would be up for a few more days, and when I went back it was at $60. So I was saying that I (and others wanting it) should have bought it on Origin while they had the sale.

WiiUsauce4081d ago

oh whoops, sorry. I forgot, I did see EA was having a sale off of gonintendo. my apologies, sir. bubble up.

Rockefellow4081d ago

I grabbed it on Origin as mentioned before, but I've seen it in stores. U.S., though

sitharrefus4081d ago

It's a shame that most retailers don't pick up games. My GameStop said they didn't want to carry it....

Cam9774081d ago

Retailers obviously don't have high demand for it; thus, their stocks reflect that.

Great news it shows that Nintendo intends to continue developing ports of AAA games to its next gen platform

H96d ago

Buying studios from embracer now is a great deal, they must be dirt cheap at this point, Nintendo is a opportunist, they wait until someone fall so they get their best deal

OtterX6d ago

That is some serious brain gymnastics you have going on there. 🤔

H96d ago

I didn't do any gymnastics I can assure you, honestly I don't know why you think that, not hating I seriously don't see why you think that

ZeekQuattro5d ago

Yeah I don't know where that came from. It's rare for Nintendo to flat out aquire studios. Guess they were trying to be edgy but why flex on this studio. 🤣

Kneetos5d ago

At least they are safer from layoffs with Nintendo then any other company

banger886d ago

I hope someone buys Piranha Bytes, their future isn't looking good right now. I love their RPGs, they're janky as f***, but they have heart and soul.

Relientk776d ago

Nintendo saw the Mortal Kombat 1 Switch port and were like, "Yeah, these guys are worth acquiring."

You can't make this crap up lol

Profchaos6d ago

Mortal Kombat 1 was never going to port well I'm sure they told wb it wasn't going to work but wb wants that sweet sweet 140 million install base

In the end wb approved the project cleared the milestones and allowed the product to release

SonOfOsiris6d ago

Yeah this guys ported MK11 which is great, Hogwarts Legacy which is great, and MK1 is now ok, play it every day

There are no "thoughtful" ads in video games, EA

There are no thoughtful ads in Video Games, EA. Leave them be.

I think the only type of games that can gets away with it would be sport games, having those sponsors ads on the side like on real life.

But don't put freaking Doritos ads in Star Wars or something, it breaks the immersion. If it is a pop-up ads, then big no.

Hofstaderman9d ago

EA can thoughtfully eff themselves.

Makersbreath29d ago

EA coming back for the crown of being perceived as the worst company in gaming.

Chocoburger9d ago (Edited 9d ago )

One of my favorite series is the THPS franchise, and it was packed with ads, but it didn't bother me. Posters for skateboard companies, JEEP, and Nokia phones. It did sort of fit in with the game world, but that was the past, these days ad would be intentionally intrusive or unskippable loading screen type of imagery. Ugh, I know EA would do it in a horrible fashion. Screw them.

Report: Sexual Misconduct Investigation Conducted at EA, Suspects Named and What They Did Revealed

EA senior staff has been investigated for sexual misconduct involving female coworkers, and these said people have been named publicly.

isarai15d ago

Aye just call Phil, i mean he somehow made Bobby Kotick's scandal disappear and gave him a few million dollar high five on the way out.

Cacabunga15d ago

I wonder if it will be censored with some in game ads.

MrBaskerville12d ago (Edited 12d ago )

Microsoft did, Phil Spencer played a minor part. He instigated the buyout that led to Kotick escaping all his controversies while getting a golden handshake.

Someone on Twitter calculated that the people hired in Tango and Arkane Austin could get a decent salary for roughly 17 years for the money Kotick was paid.

InUrFoxHole12d ago

Yeah some thing tells me Kotics $ was already guaranteed before MS made the deal. As for the studios... Let's be honest here... none of those studios made system sellers.

XiNatsuDragnel15d ago (Edited 15d ago )

EA about to go down like Activision and then Phil saves the day saying.this is good for the industry and consolidation will help create competition. /s.

MrBaskerville12d ago

Then they shutdown Codemasters and studio behind Jedi Survivor.

Atleast they could hardly do much damage that EA hadn't allready done. EA has shut down most of their studios by now.

ravens5215d ago

What's up with all these horny creeps. You gon be horny, fine. Just not at work take care of that shit before you go in. Rub one out if you have to. Don't be a creep at all. ESPECIALLY at work. But don't be one AT ALL.

Extermin8or3_15d ago

I mean part of the issue is that things transpired outside of work....

MrBaskerville12d ago

That's the thing he mentioned about not being a creep at all.

KwietStorm_BLM15d ago

You think deviants care where they are? Work sometimes makes it an even better situation for them because they can abuse their power.

mudakoshaka14d ago

Nerds think they are Gods when they are making video games.

NotoriousWhiz15d ago (Edited 15d ago )

"it seems that according to EA, given the events transpired outside of work between two adults, and the fact that once investigation has started that the alleged perpetrators didn’t do it again, the investigation is considered closed. [...] The victim still has to work with the people that harassed her."

Yep, EA is disgusting.

Extermin8or3_15d ago

I mean the fact stuff happened outside of work puts EA in quite a difficult position legally. These women don't seem to have reported the matter to the police which kinda ties EA's hands on what they can do. If they don't file reports of the crimes then yeah from EA's perspective it is stuff that happened outside of work. The only exception is the guy that apparently referenced things in the slack channel for work, spending on what he said proving it may be very hard and he may well be able to get away with plausible deniability. I don't like EA and I think these people need to be dismissed but without any legal action being taken, EA can't really do much without risk of being sued themselves for unfair dismissal etc.
