Well Sega might as well cancel Colonial Marines for the Wii U cause is sucks anyways.

People said the same thing about Razor's Edge, and I wound up liking that game. So no, I hope they don't cancel the Wii U version and hopefully the same patch fixes that are rumored to be coming for the other versions.

jacksheen00004089d ago

PopRocks, I really hope you right cause I expected a lot more Gearbox.

Qrphe4088d ago

Difference is, Nintendo had direct influence on Razor's Edge, but not on this

Yodagamer4089d ago

Considering it's been delayed, it might be a bit better, but i can't expect much more unless they totally revamp it. You can polish a turd, but it's still a turd.

It's doesn't suck it's a good game, yes it has issues but so do a lot of games, I think this game has been a victim of its own hype

jacksheen00004088d ago

You're Right Gearbox's Colonial Marines is a victim of its own hype.

The graphic were Ok, but felt rushed. Gearbox did a horrible job. Its nothing more than a Generic FPS.

My Bet is the wii U version will suck too.

Yodagamer4088d ago (Edited 4088d ago )

It's a victim of the actual demo being better both graphically and gameplay wise. Due to crappy management and a bad development team like timegate who didn't optimize the game well enough for ps3/xbox's limited memory, so gear box had 4 months to rewrite the levels and code.

MrUndrhill4088d ago

I think the issue is less that the game is "playable" but much more that it was talked about as a "canonical sequel" to Aliens, and that all this extra time was being spent handling it with loving care. Instead 5 months before release GB realizes it is garbage and they are gonna have to push it out to avoid getting sued by SEGA. It is not hype, it is deception. GB deserves to crash and burn for this.

RuperttheBear4089d ago

Seriously though, given how it's turned out to be a complete turd, do we really need it on the Wii U?

ApolloTheBoss4088d ago (Edited 4088d ago )

Releasing it again is really an insult anyway.

Where did the atmosphere go? The game was looking rather good, and even on the PC at highest settings the vids look like crap compared to the early footage (of the same parts).

I wonder then did they really strip it, or perhaps we were looking at the Wii U version? Probably not. Probably a horrible design decision.

With the way it looks on PC in its final state, the Wii U version indeed may be literally the best looking version.

But this is unlikely. It's just weird to see a game seemingly regress so much yet one version isn't out yet, and the devs said it was supposed to be the best version. Plausible? Sure. But not likely.

Interesting, in a roundabout way, it may be true, though not for the above reasoning I pontificated earlier.

http://kotaku.com/5984068/h...

Basically, if true, Timegate the dev Gearbox had outsourced the work to, had supposedly thrown out Gearbox's work, thus why the game looks so much different from the demo shown early (which was Gearbox's work).

The good news for Wii U owners is that the Wii U version is not a Timegate/Gearbox collaboration but rather a Demiurge Games/Gearbox collaboration.

Meaning there is a chance that 'what was thrown out by Timegate' wasn't thrown out by Demiurge and thus the Wii U version might be truer to what Gearbox had originally demoed.

Apparently Timegate really screwed Gearbox over, and so lets hope that what Demiurge was working on was what Gearbox had sent them, and not something Timegate ever touched.

Roundtable: Games That Should Have Received a Sequel

Too many games aren't given a second shot. We at VGU choose which games we would love to see receive a sequel.

The Saboteur - criminally underrated and a fantastic mechanic of bringing colour back to Nazi-occupied Paris.

The article lists Bulletstorm, Sleeping Dogs, and Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Can't argue with any of those really, but I would add Resident Evil Operation Racoon City and Metal Gear Survive to that list. Both terrible games from good franchises.

Bulletstorm, I actually liked the gameplay but the atrocious writing and characters made me despise the game by the end of it.

I still play AvP on PS3 to this day. That game had fun multiplayer too.
