New Zealand knows what's up for the best gaming experience.

Good for Sony. They deserve all the success they get :)

We know what gaming system is best, and it isn't anything with Microsoft written on it ;)

Most people I know have one over an Xbox 360

GribbleGrunger4095d ago

To be fair, most American's could say the same about the 360. Bit it wasn't really necessary to say that, was it?

SonyNGP4095d ago

Nope. It was completely necessary. Fanboyish gloating is fun!

ElementX4095d ago

It may not have Microsoft written on it, however my gaming PC uses Windows :P It's better than console systems however I own both the PS3 and 360. After building a PC a few months ago I haven't looked back. I will buy next gen systems however I do enjoy PC gaming. I was a huge PC gamer back when PS2 came out, I didn't even own a PS2. I bought the current gen systems and I was happy because my old PC was a piece, however after checking out prices on components I made a pretty good system for around $700 which included the OS.

ufo8mycat4095d ago

Im the other way around. I switched from PC gaming to PS3/360 and havent looked back. I can pretty much play all the quality games that are on PC already on PS3/360, plus more.

The PC platform is definitely not what it use to be back in 2000. Now it's known as the platform with hardly any games, with good reason, they are all available on PS3/360, making it pretty much irrelevent, unless I want to fire up Diablo 3 from time to time.

On the other hand, PC games are roughly $10 cheaper, plus Steam deals. Steam screwed up Sleeping Dogs during the holiday sale and I got it for around $6. Not to mention frequent 50-75% off sales. A new game goes on sale every day and they have mid-week and weekend sales and now week long sales. My game savings alone have paid for my computer.

"On the other hand, PC games are roughly $10 cheaper."

That price is irrelevant if your game choices are far more limited in terms or worthwhile games to play. We all know PC has the "most" games but those include flash games, facebook games, etc..

Sony wouldve been successful in all these areas including US if they wouldve been more competitive with their prices & didnt wait so long to launch the ps3 but i guess there is a bright side to it is u learn from your mistakes and comeback even stronger with your next console.

Karpetburnz4095d ago

This is great news, Sony has both New Zealand and Australia in the bag, Now All they need to do is take over the U.S, perhaps next gen?

Darth Stewie4095d ago (Edited 4095d ago )

Doubt it the only company that could beat Microsoft in the US would be Apple but hopefully Apple don't make another game console.

BushLitter4095d ago

Australia and New Zealand do not make up any great segment of the market share. And to jump from dominating New Zealand to dominating America is quite a leap. I don't think Microsoft or Sony will even bat an eyelid at this. No offence there... mate

TimeShift - FPS Game Standing the Test of Time

TimeShift had a fairly muted launch in 2007, and while it doesn't rewrite the FPS rulebook it does offer an enjoyable campaign even now.

I played this on PC when it came out, it was actually good

Astrokis2h ago

Same! For its time I liked it a lot

Never heard of this game until someone mentioned it here last year. Played it and it basically represents most games from the PS3/Xbox360 era—good graphics, amazing physics, and extremely fun gameplay (time powers rock), but barely any story, weird pacing, and at least one annoying AF level. I finished Prototype last week and the same applies, except Strike Teams. Fuck Strike Teams.

I miss when ganes used to experiment with physics and world interaction

Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell Of Ar Ciel Retro Review – Love Conquers All

Gary Green said: You’ll be forgiven if you haven’t heard of the Ar Tonelico trilogy. The previous two games arrived so late in the PS2’s life-cycle that they simply went unnoticed. While most were tinkering with their shiny new PS3s, Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia and Ar Tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica were being ‘returned to sender’ by your local Game stores. Luckily, you won’t need to have played them to understand and appreciate this third and final chapter, Qoga (pronounced k-yoga) tells the story of a racial war between humans and Reyvateils, a breed of biologically produced female cyborgs capable of reproduction, while still having a digital mind.

Oh my god. I kinda wish this would get a remaster on PS5, it would be awesome. One of my favorite games on PS3.

That and 3D Dot Game Heroes. It's a shame that some stuff is stuck on PS3.

Knightofelemia4d ago

Ar Tonelico 3 is good I still prefer the first AT game. The music is solid in all the games and Akiko Shikata is a very talented singer bringing life to the game. Only annoying part is well I find is Saki I always choose Finnel or Tyria. KOEI so needs to HD remaster the franchise along with Ar Nosurge and Ciel Nosurge since it never came to North America. I would day one the Ar Toneliceo games and Ar Nosurge if they were remastered.

I still have the limited edition of Qoga unopened. Unfortunately it never went up in value like I had hoped all these years.

Used to own all these quirky JRPG on ps3 good times. Wish I would have kept them all

Mugen Souls Retro Review – Sexy Demon Space Adventure

Gary Green said: We have a juxtaposition of 2D and 3D visuals, flashy turn-based combat, quirky anime characters with cheeky dialogue with plenty of partial nudity; Yes, this is a Compile Heart JRPG. Whilst the engine is borrowed from Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, Mugen Souls is more of a Disgaea spin-off. It’s not a strategy RPG as such, it merely sits within Disgaea’s ever-expanding universe (Multiverse? Netherverse? Your guess is as good as mine). You won’t find cameos though, since Mugen Souls is a franchise which aims to stand on its own two feet.
