Showtime: PS4 rumoured at 1.84TF, Xbox 720 at 1.23TF

vg247: Here we go. VG247 has been told that PlayStation 4 has a 50% raw power advantage over Xbox 720, based on information out of CES

GribbleGrunger4155d ago (Edited 4155d ago )

Whatever the final specs are, there will be little between them. The differentiating factor will be exclusives, Windows 8, Gaikai, PS+ and the like. Of course the most interesting aspect will be Blu-ray or no blu-ray and at which resolution?

Godchild10204155d ago

I agree. This thread on Neogaf proves why I'm going to wait until Sony and Microsoft announces their next gen systems, with their respective specifications.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum...

jujubee884155d ago (Edited 4155d ago )

But I agree there are a lot of rumors going 'round without either company making a public press releases.

Within the hour of my approving one rumor about "a" being more powerful than "b" I turn around and see this article saying "b" is more powerful than "a".

Man, I need to get paid for doing this stuff on N4G. :P

edit:

@deadfrag:

Did you even check out the link I posted before. Vg247 had the first pictures of VITA's beta dev kits.

Don't believe they are the beta dev kits for VITA. Well look at this,

@jujubee88

It is all rubbish anyway. These website never check their sources and there have been few instances when they have got it right. The rest of the time they get them wrong which a lot of people seem to forget

zebramocha4155d ago (Edited 4155d ago )

@juju I'm wondering if the preformance listed is total or just that of the gpu because their was a rumor from google translate that said Sony was to have a gpu at 1.8 Tf.

sikbeta4155d ago

@jujubee

What is wrong with GAF now? most of the news come from there, most legit site when it comes to vg-news...

O-T

Rumors still, don't believe anything before official announcements from boths Sony and MS,

Akuma-4155d ago

LET THE RUMOURS COMMENCE.

i cant wait for the ps4 and the many playstation IPs. sony better have the more powerful console because the next gen console that is the more powerful will be catered to more. because sony is pushing for 4k resolution i believe itll be the most powerful console ever this year in order to render games in native 4k resolution. im also hoping to hear about some new blu ray disc thatll be over 200gbs capacity.

Gazondaily4155d ago

Haha this site makes laugh. In the other topic, where the Xbox 360 is rumoured to be more poweful, everyone is like " what a load of nonsense ....stupid rumours" and the rumour bar is so far to the left, that tree hugging democrats thinks it's gone too far left and here, it's all, "hopefully yeah!.

Ah you guys! *Pokes SDF belly*

raytraceme4155d ago (Edited 4155d ago )

VG247, If you forgot, were the ones who gave news of the rumor of sony aquiring a gaming cloud company which became true a few months later. I would trust them far more than a journal which has a rumor of the opposite (article next to this one).

Diver4155d ago

I'll go one better than waiting, I'll just get a PS4 cause with Gaikai my system gets continually more powerful without ever leaving my house.

darthv724155d ago

statistics. In this post that is for the ps4 to be more powerful than the 720 has 129 total votes in the "hopefully" section.

In another post about the 720 being more powerful than ps4 is 209 total votes in the "doubtful" section.

NewMonday4155d ago

NEW RUMOUR!

720 will run a custom version of W8

I just pulled this out of my @$$ and may very well be more true than all the recent "leaks"

AAACE54155d ago

1.84 vs. 1.23... looks closer to 30% to me!

ABizzel14155d ago

@AAACE5

LOL, good spin. But if you're coming up from the 1.23TF rumored in the Xbox 720 then it's a 50% increase.

Going down from PS4's 1.84TF to 1.23TF is how you got your 30% increase.

Marketing 101 aka Spin City :D

What matters most is if this is full console TF or GPU only TF.

In the case of the PS4 it's likely full console seeing how they're also "STRONGLY RUMORED" to be using the AMD A10, so the PS4 should be on par with HD 7950M (aka HD 7850), which isn't bad at all.

The Xbox 720 is likely the CPU only, but with that being said the CPU isn't going to do much to improve the overall TF unless it's a complete beastly CPU so at best they would tie with the PS4, but most likely still be behind if the rumors are true (currently those TF put it on par with a HD 7870M aka HD 7770GHz).

Also depends on the amount of RAM, clock speeds, memory, etc...

starchild4155d ago

I kind of hope this is true. Sony tends to have the better exclusives (and more of them), so it would be nice to be able to get those exclusives with the best graphics and also be able to play all of the multiplatform games on the same console.

If Sony makes a beefy enough console I might switch over to the PS4 as my main platform (over PC and Xbox 720).

For now I am taking this all with a grain of salt. We'll simply have to wait for more solid information.

4155d ago
Sarcasm4155d ago

Either way I hope they put some damn good GPU's in there to support higher res textures and higher resolutions in general.

grailly4155d ago

I guess they'll be running the same games, minus the exclusives, so the power won't change much.

in the case of these consoles, I find RAM more interesting as let's the console offer more integrated services(at least that's how I see it)

Godmars2904155d ago

I still find it hard to believe that MS might cripple themselves yet again hardware-wise with only upscaled DVDs where the industry is talking about 1TB+ Blu-ray discs. Though I expect the PS4's will only rate 100GB.

nukeitall4155d ago (Edited 4155d ago )

and what might we need that massive space for on disc?

Most games that use a lot of space mostly use it for uncompressed audio and pre-rendered video. That is why most games rarely span more than one DVD, let alone two.

A lot of space just means more costly assets have to be made with very little difference to the user.

With next generation rolling around and hard drives being the standard, you would most likely just install the darn thing and not wear out your optical drive anyhow.

hazardman4155d ago (Edited 4155d ago )

Dude you know better than that! MS gonna have blu ray not no upscale DVD. Every rumor indicates this no matter what the source. Another thing I don't care for these specs PS3 is more powerful than Xbox 360. So if that the case next gen so be it. Both console will look great in my living room.

Minato-Namikaze4155d ago

@nukeitall Look at games like GOW3, Uncharted 2, and Killzone 3 as to why we need bigger discs. All multiplat titles could be on that level (provided they are good devs)

Flavor4154d ago

Look at the most successful properties in gaming right now and re-evaluate that post.

I have a blu ray player in my PC and I never use it since everything I watch/play is from 'da cloud'.

Godmars2904154d ago

How about not looking at only your own situation and preferences before commenting?

MS started stared this gen by saying the 360 could get by only on DVD, then had to make two major system revisions and temporarily tossed in an add on to compensate. And at the end of six years of thinking like that, of failing to anticipate their own much less consumer needs, they've been edged out of 2nd place worldwide.

I'm not saying that whatever they go with on disc will be a full repeat, but if they go in as narrow mindedly as they have twice before they could end up scrambling to compensate.

cannon88004154d ago

bluray movies in 4k will require 100gb or more just to fit in the disk. Maybe that's why?

skrug4149d ago

@nukeitall

That's why Forza 3/4, Halo 4, Mass Effect 2/3,L.A. Noire, AC3, etc etc are all multi-disc

nukeitall4155d ago (Edited 4155d ago )

Whatever super power each console might have, this generation like many others have proven that power does not guarantee a great console.

I think the most flexible console with the best infrastructure for new features and with quality games will win more so than the number of games or the most hardware power.

The bottom line is, both consoles likely won't differ that much in power, because you can't make the cost difference too big and each dollar can only get you so much hardware so it comes down to "smart design"!

InTheZoneAC4155d ago

forget all the features, the selling point is exclusive games for me

this is why I will always choose playstation over xbox.

ps+ is just icing on the cake.

Blackdeath_6634155d ago

..and weather or not microsoft will make you pay for internet. playstation has had by far the better exclusives this gen with more still on their way. with gaikai and a strong gaming console under their belt i can't see where xbox is going. i don't think microsoft will promote windows8. they show very little support for pc and games for windows live is nothing short of a train wreck. microsoft seem to be obsessed with gimmicks like kinect and illumiroom. they have neglected the core gamers.

hazardman4155d ago

You might be right you might be wrong. One thing I do know is that noone on this forum knows of any facts whatsoever. I'm also a ps3 owner and one thing I can see sony doing is adding gakai to ps+ which means you will probably have to pay to use it. A lot the ps bots can disagree all they want playing online will stay free most other features will fall on the ps+ so the people always on this thread knocking xbl customers will feel like idiots when your paying for ps+ to enjoy certain features. For me xbl/ps+ are essential I don't mind paying at all to enjoy this hobby that has been part of my life since the age of 6. I'm 33 now, and will be gaming til my end of days!!

Blackdeath_6634154d ago

@hazardman there is a difference between making customers pay for extra features like gaikai and ps+ and making them pay to just play online which should come as standard if you have the game and an internet connection.

N4g_null4155d ago

So neither one can run unreal engine 4. All this talk power and they can't even run a one of the most powerful engines. I can truely see why the big pc developers are getting out of consoles now. Unreal needs 2.5. Tflops. So it's very possible we are looking at another gimped generation and this means they won't be far ahead of the wiiu power wise.

this isn't looking good for the fan boys that can only talk about power.

DeadlyFire4154d ago (Edited 4154d ago )

Author of this article should pay more attention.

It states
PS4 - 3.2 Tflops
Xbox 720 - 4.2 Tflops

Then it also states Soc
For PS4 = 1.84 with 2 of them x2 = 3.68
Xbox 720 SoC is at 1.23 x3 = 3.69

Also states that the SoC numbers are old. Could easily be different now.

It also states X720 at 4.2 Tflops now with 3 SoC chips = 1.4 Tflops per SoC.

While Sony has 3.2 Tflops now with 2 SoCs = 1.6 Tflops for Sony SoC.

Simple solution for Sony is to add a third SoC to outmatch Xbox 720 equaling up to 4.8 Tflops. PS4 = breathtaking machine if so.

How the hell will they cool off these machines so I can play a game without hardware issues I wonder though.

Still take it with a bucket of salt. Some truth is in every myth, but we won't know final details until they are final. Its a fun guessing game though.

hmm... I have been thinking since 2011 that 4 Tflops was a goal of both companies with Sony's 4K talk. These are not likely final until after E3. Production could be delayed as final rush to the top happens. As Sony has stated before when they make something that will wow people then they will release it. If they stick to their word there should be no problem. I personally want Sony to release in Q1-Q2 2014 so they don't mess it up with rushed console red ring. Like apparently both are doing this time around if rumors holds true.

DeadlyFire4154d ago (Edited 4154d ago )

Ah they both are 3.2 Tflops.

PS4 = 3.xx Tflops
SOC 1 = 1.84 Tflops
SOC 2 = 1.2x

XB3 = 3.11 Tflops
SOC 1 = 650 Tflops
Dual SOC 2 = 2.4 Tflops

Plus CPU .1-.2 Tflops.

Mythical claim Xbox 720 can perform 4.2 Tflops. Nice touch to article.
http://misterxmedia.livejou...

I would like to see it in motion regardless.

Clover9044155d ago

I used to have a 360, but eventually got tired of not being able to play the multiple AAA ps exclusive. I bought a ps3 and haven't looked back. Besides Alan Wake, Xbox doesn't have anything in its stable to get me excited about the Xbox Next... not yet. Don't be surprised if Microsoft announces a brand new AAA exclusive title at E3.

ChrisW4155d ago (Edited 4155d ago )

I'm not finding much validity in this article... But I'll just point out 2 obvious things.

---"Both machines will supposedly have have the ability to read 100Gb Blu-ray discs."

Possibly... But MS will more than likely opt out of using BluRay

---"Durango is apparently based on the Radeon HD 8770 GPU."

Probably Not! It's been reported that Xbox 720 will be using a custom version 6670. AND when AMD releases the 8770 GPU, it will more than likely cost $400+.

VG247 mentions they've talked to developers at CES, they also were spot on about several things I've heard. This is the first I'm hearing about 100 GB discs.

VG247 had pictures of Vita before any one else, so I'm more inclined to believe them.

Edit: VG247 is under the impression that several media outlets are in possession of documents related to Durango from CES and are currently working on major leak stories.

Fishy Fingers4155d ago

Seems more like they're just basing this off the rumours already circulating over the web. Until something remotely official gets leaked, I'd take this with a big pinch of salt.

jujubee884155d ago

http://www.vg247.com/2010/1...

^As you can see, they did come up with a big scoop.

Not to say one rumor is more valid than the next (the companies behind the hardware only know the facts) but I lean toward vg247 being more valid at this point.

kneon4155d ago (Edited 4155d ago )

Sony will likely support BDXL disks which have a capacity of up to 128GB. As far as I know that's the biggest standardized bluray format, though various companies have shown working drives at over 500GB.

BDXL along with the new codec will allow full length movies at 4k resolution on one disk.

They will also need at least a 6x drive for 4k so I expect it will likely be an 8x drive.

deadfrag4155d ago

Previous VG247 Rumors:

Xbox 720 has 2 GPUs, 4-6 core CPU, requires internet connection to play games

PS4 uses A10 APU, dev kits have 8-16 GB of RAM

PlayStation Vita uses a four core Cell CPU!!!!

DarkHeroZX4155d ago

The vita uses an ARM CPU not the cell.

DeadlyFire4154d ago (Edited 4154d ago )

Well according to the source link and his posts.

AMD 9000, and AMD 10000 spec parts will be used and while both consoles look like 3.2 Tflops on paper. Xbox 720 will be able to perform at 4.2 Tflops with Xbox 720 using Power770 cores.

Only thing creditable is SoC is mentioned. 2-3 of them for PS4/XB3. Which makes sense in a way, but still kinda off if AMD 6670/7670 are utilized. If you take away that 650 Gigaflops and drop in AMD 6760 it equals 3.228 Tflops. Which even matches his own words with both equal to 3.2 Tflops on paper.

XB3 - 3.228 Tflops
SoC 1 - Unknown CPU + AMD 6670 - 768 Gigaflops. BC + Graphics assist on new generation.
SoC 2 = dual design - 1.23 Tflops(AMD 7770?) x 2 = 2.46 Tflops. Main Xbox 720 CPU/GPU Soc it appears with 4 CPU cores in each SoC.

PS4 - 3.228? Tflops How so?
SoC 1 - 1.840 Tflops
SoC 2 - 1.388? AMD 7770? or around that range.

Just a guess. I assume they both will be marginally close to each other.

PS6 Graphics – Can it Approach Photorealism?

If the PS5 Pro leaks are accurate, the eventual PS6 is slated to be one powerful console. But if modern GPUs still lag behind true photorealism, can the PS6 get there?

gamingbolt.com
Hugodastrevas14d ago

I hate to be "that guy", but we have go ask ourselves do the industry need photorealistic graphics at this point or actually good games, good content, less anti-consumer practices?
This graphical obsession has brought nothing but years upon years of waiting for a game to launch with huge detailed empty worlds, bad stories and predictable gameplay and (micro)transactions everywhere. Sorry for the rant.

MrGameAndWatch14d ago

Same. I really don't want to be in an interactive film and, to me photorealism is not needed for immersion.

RaidenBlack14d ago

Why always target photorealism?
Why not use the extra horsepower for better, complex & diverse AI?
Why not target more interactable world? Why not use the new performance headroom for more physics effects?
Player choices that drastically affect and changes the game world?

Cacabunga14d ago (Edited 14d ago )

Let’s first see what PS5 graphics look like.. we’ve seen nothing yet

RaidenBlack14d ago

@Cacabunga
For that, first Naughty Dog's PS5 single-player exclusive, then Guerilla's PS5 single-player exclusive

OtterX14d ago (Edited 14d ago )

If anything, the massive layoffs in the industry right now are showing that investors are pulling out and not wanting to invest as much as they are right now into AAAs. Much less push for even higher detail, unless many parts of it are automated by AI for a cheaper price. Not saying I support people's jobs being replaced by AI, just stating a reality of what the money people want.

DarXyde14d ago (Edited 14d ago )

Photorealism should be reserved for games like Gran Turismo. It costs far too much to incorporate that level of detail.

Even then, if it comes at the cost of physics calculations or frame rate given the shared resources of consoles, I'd scale it back in favor of a smoother experience.

Nintendo was quite smart to never pigeonhole themselves into that. Great foresight on their part, I'd say.

8bitAssassin14d ago

But they've gotten very lazy on their games. I still like their approach don't just make game play your biggest innovation.

DarXyde14d ago (Edited 14d ago )

8bitAssassin,

I assume you're talking about Nintendo.

I think it works for them. I'm honestly glad that it's nothing like PlayStation or Xbox. It's a great reason to own one.

8bitAssassin13d ago

Yup!! I am. Yes it works for them and I love it. I want them to have better than average old tech so the scope of some of their games can drop jaws. I'm not talking about counting pixels either.

anast14d ago

I think we need both. Why lower the standard? A photorealistic Bloodborne or Elden Ring game would be insane.

isarai14d ago

Nah im with you on that, like visually games look fine, maybe up the resolution on average but i would much rather resources be spent on things that actually make the game FEEL good to play at this point.

shinoff218314d ago

Don't forget about the budgets.

ROCKY2814d ago

agreed - stop with the expensive photo realism and just create amazing games that are less expensive that are not a risk to create an original game within 2-3 years and not 7 years of development - like the OG PS2/Xbox era !

WolfSeed14d ago

There are individual goals for individual parameters. Graphics, gameplay, scale, geometry, AI Sophistication, etc.

This article touches one of them. No need to cancel the conversation because you care more about other things.

Amplitude14d ago (Edited 14d ago )

Some photorealism is much cheaper to produce than what devs are currently forced to do.
If all games could have path tracing, there would be no need for developers to manually map ambient occlusion, shadowmaps, reflection probes, etc. It's a huge undertaking that's making games cost way more to produce on account of the rather pathetic-for-2024 RT and general performance of the current gen consoles.

As much as i hate to say it, we need new consoles as soon as feasibly possible. These consoles launched at the absolute worst possible time, right before RT/DLSS2.0/3.0 were able to quickly skyrocket games in quality on the PC side of things, leaving a ridiculously large gap between PC and console almost immediately after launch and preventing things like CyberPunk Pathtracing Mode in other games. They're holding everything back and making games take longer to produce.

I think Microsoft may be smart if they end up adopting a model where multiple companies (including NVidia) can release multiple spec variant "PC" boxes with the XBox OS. One console every decade doesn't cut it with how quick technology moves in this new era we're in.

smolinsk14d ago

I would love the Next step in graphic to be massive but it always turns out that it takes a long time so the ps6 graphics are gonna be like the best we have now Just with 60fps in every game. World love to se the big ass large worlds with fantastic graphics and depth. Gta 6 are gonna bring that for sure.

just_looken13d ago

@hugo

100% agree but it also made the use of upscale tech the norm which made games worse and the fact console now are just tablets we need a console with a real gpu real cpu real ram setup.

It would be so amazing to see a game like you said made like the ps2/ps3 era using today's pc parts pushing the hardware.

There are titles out there that make my pc run like its still on the desktop

Barlos13d ago

Agreed. For me at least, games are escapism. I don't want them mimicking real life. Graphics don't have to be photorealistic to be impressive. As with you, I'm more about the story, and I would prefer innovation in other ways. The PS5 did it with the DualSense. This it more important to me than just shinier graphics.

Zenzuu14d ago

Personally for me, graphics have already gotten to the point where I don't really feel the need to see having it to make anymore realistic or better.

At this point, I rather game developers focus on quality/engaging stories, gameplay, & contents. Also not every every single game needs to opened world just for the sake of it.

anast14d ago

I'd rather they focus on both. It's a trillion dollar industry. They should be able to do both.

neutralgamer199214d ago

Zenzuu

Believe it or not when it comes to consoles and games graphics are still the biggest factor. Why do you think we still see CHI trailers or in engine footage. The first impression is very important. Not for us core gamers but for millions of casuals who are quite easily impressed with wow factor graphics

TiredGamer14d ago

"More, more, more!!! I don't care what it takes - I deserve more! And I won't PAY a dollar more!"

That's the mindset of some people out there.

JEECE14d ago

I mean, can we still say that's the case even when casuals flock to mediocre looking battle royales? PUBG became huge among casuals, and it looks like a PS3 era shooter with textures that didn't load properly. And casuals have embraced the cartoon aesthetic (Fortnite is the easy example here, but there are others). What is the recent graphics focused game casuals have flocked to? Are you counting COD for that?

anast13d ago

Nintendo says Switch 2 will be officially announced before the end of March 2025

This is Furukawa, President of Nintendo. We will make an announcement about the successor to Nintendo Switch within this fiscal year. It will have been over nine years since we announced the existence of Nintendo Switch back in March 2015. We will be holding a Nintendo Direct this June regarding the Nintendo Switch software lineup for the latter half of 2024, but please be aware that there will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during that presentation.

Profchaos27d ago (Edited 27d ago )

I'm excited for a switch 2 however I don't feel it will be coming this year as per the tweet in they are commuting to a reveal in this Japanese financial year in 2025.

Realistically we will get one last holiday season to focus on the switch because it would be madness for Nintendo to go into the holidays where the switch always performs well when they have announced a switch 2.

I'm thinking we see a announcement late Jan 25 personally with a release between March and June depending on when the software is ready and how strong the holday sales were if they need to boost those figures for the next earnings call or not

gold_drake27d ago

yea agreed. they'll probably match it with the new pkmn game they announced

VenomUK27d ago

There's a event in June for games on the switch and they said there won't be a switch 2 announcement so no way they will announce the console after june and still release it in the same year

Eonjay27d ago

So, I think they will shoot for another FYQ4 release (like with the first Switch) but I am confused by the headline:

'[...] Switch 2 will be officially ANNOUNCED before the end of March 2025' This implies that the Switch 2 isn't coming out till maybe holiday 2025 or maybe even 2026. I think they will be better served by NOT releasing when GTA 6 launches (unless there is some shocking reveal that it will run on Switch 2). Release early 2025.

Neonridr27d ago

I'd say it'll be released before March 2025 tbh.

Holiday announcement with summer launch

It should be an interesting year; Sony, Nintendo, and MS all have new Hardware to show.

And people say it's all fake because Sony haven't said anything 😂 conveniently forget the PS4 Pro was only announced 2 months before release.

BeHunted47d ago

It's fake. There's no factual evidence other than his own made up specs.

Hereandthere47d ago

What were the specks Sony was afraid of showing?

Shikoku47d ago (Edited 47d ago )

Digital foundry put a video out saying what he leaked was exactly what they also knew about the PS5 PRO. So no it's not just stuff he made up

Babadook747d ago (Edited 47d ago )

If it’s fake what copyright does MLID infringe upon?

😂

andy8547d ago

Aye because they'd go to the effort of copyright claiming it if it didn't exist 🙃😂 you'd have to be a special kind to be thinking its not a thing by now

Cacabunga47d ago

They need to reveal it with uncharted killzone or a heavy hitter like this

Ironmike47d ago (Edited 47d ago )

U mean the specs that we'll established digital foundry which said these are the actual specs published a video on 2 weeks ago I mean they are only one of most trusted sites for tech information but they just made up a video for the sake of it

Christopher47d ago

I would love for it all to be fake, but lots of people are saying they've seen/heard the same thing. But, man, we 100% don't need mid-gen upgrades when we're failing hard to optimize current hardware.

if I recall Sony lowered sales expectations for PS5 earlier this year. if that is the case we won't hear anything about a Pro until next year or shortly before/when it's dropping. After all, if the Pro was dropping this year/fiscal year they wouldn't have lowered expectations.

As for squashing rumors. Yeah, shit like this prevents potential buyers from adopting now, just like slim rumors in the past. It only makes sense to keep things under wraps from a business perspective. Despite living in a technological age of unfettered access to information we don't need to know whats going on behind closed doors be that at Sony, Nintendo, MS, or amongst any development studios. When the steak is done we shall feast.

JackBNimble46d ago

By the time games are actually made to take advantage of the pro spec's the ps6 will be released or close to it.

jznrpg47d ago (Edited 47d ago )

Just announce it already! I want to preorder one asap. But in reality they don’t want to lessen PS5 sales until Pro is ready to launch so I understand the business part of it. September is probably when they announce it with an early November launch like the PS4 Pro

Ironmike47d ago

Pro won't lessen sales sames ps4 pro never and the ps4 pro was more relevant at the time cos move to 4k this not needed

RaidenBlack47d ago (Edited 47d ago )

Yea, my brother got his PS4 (coz of a good deal) after the PS4 Pro's release.

darthv7247d ago

^^same here. I got a base 4 for only $100 off a guy who bought the Pro. then a few months later I found a guy on craigslist selling a pro for $100 because it was left behind by his former roommate who moved out. That was the beginning of my obsession to buy up the different variants of the PS4 that were released.

As of now I am really only missing the 500m one and the gold slim but otherwise I have pretty much all the other retail ones. https://consolevariations.c...

crazyCoconuts46d ago

Anyone with 4K that appreciates 60fps is gonna disagree about it not being needed.
DLSS is a god send for Nvidia, and there's been nothing like it for AMD...yet ...

They will announce it around E3 timeframe about May-June whenever they do a showcase for the year.

neutralgamer199247d ago

Just announce it this thing will sell well

Ironmike47d ago (Edited 47d ago )

I don't think it will pll still haven't seen the potential of ps5 yet

Cacabunga47d ago

agreed, but it might sell if they announce some 1st party games to lead the way. if people see the difference with the base version they can move on. for my sake I am still gaming mainly on PS4 (still not finished with RDR2 due to lack of gaming time). I have a huge backlog on PS5 I am hoping to get into.

mark3214uk47d ago

why? game makers havnt even come close to maxing out current spec yet, were getting al lthese new TFlops and game maker are making crappy remakes not worthy of the ps3

Minute Man 72147d ago

The guts of the 5 and X are 5 years old

fr0sty46d ago

People keep saying that, yet we still have games running at near HD resolutions, 30fps, and ray tracing features turned off.

PRIMORDUS47d ago (Edited 47d ago )

I would take that video and upload a torrent of it, fuck that copyright bullshit. If your going to do something that has a chance of being taken down, make a torrent first share it. Then Sony or any other company is helpless and you can laugh in their faces, taunting them to try to take it down 🤣

LoveSpuds47d ago

With kind of analysis and advice, you could be a lawyer for Trump!🤣

tronyx1247d ago

As much as the PS4 Pro didn't represent a major % in the playerbase, announcing a 'better' model will hinder sales from the 'base' model. They are right, business-wise.
