10 bucks says, it's The Phantom Pain related.

Spoiler: Phantom pain = Mgs5

Nimblest-Assassin4167d ago

I think Phantom Pain might be ground Zeroes

Didn't Kojima open a studio out of Japan earlier? I think this is their first game

Jio4167d ago (Edited 4167d ago )

Yeah, but the quote from Ground Zeroes is "From FOX two PHANTOMS were born."

These two phantoms could possibly be referring to two games being developed by the same engine simultaneously.

Also, from the first image it is clear that it is called MGS V and not Ground Zeroes, meaning it's probably a separate game.

Kojima did say that the FOX engine was able to port games to the Vita, and Kojima hopes to make it the best engine in the world. What better way to prove it than to make the most amazing looking handheld game ever!? Look at the second picture where you can see the quality difference between Ground Zeroes and the trailer. The trailer shows less detail and more jaggies, also the trailer was released on the Vita's native format instead of the usual 1080p.

What sense would it make to release Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid V on consoles at the same time? That would only lower sales of one or the other. Releasing Ground Zeroes on consoles and Metal Gear Solid V as a small prequel or sequel (neither are certain from the trailer) would result in a surge of sales of the Vita, and both Ground Zeroes and MGS V.

I really hope Kojima is making two MGS games at the same time. I need my MGS fix!

EDIT: I guess I should name my source for the Vita speculation. http://pushstartselect.com/...

Kojima already had said long ago that Ground Zeroes is a Prequel to MGS5. . . .

That and for the sake of obviousness as the internet basically already uncovered the words of MGS5 can fit above The Phantom Pain in the trailer. That is plenty enough evidence in my book....

But to have to re-explain the obvious....MGS3 > Peacewalker > Ground Zeroes > MGS5 - What I want to see next or imagine....is Metal Gear 1 and 2 being remade with the curious twist....What if you play Big Boss in those games instead of Solid Snake, or, what if there's Two campaigns? 1 with Solid Snake as it is by default story-wise....But what if you play Big Boss and see what he does during Metal Gear 1 and 2? Hear me out, as we have come to better know Big Boss, MANY of us fans easily prefer Big Boss, now that we know a lot of his story....For me? I'd want to see what exactly is going through Big Boss' mind as Solid Snake basically, systematically destroys everything you as Big Boss playing his life have come to build. Think about it, Big Boss isn't some giant asshole to his comrades yet Solid Snake, to what we'd see before as the Good Guy, we as Solid Snake killed off his entire team! Big Boss' comrades, I'd love to see a game that plays you off as what we originally perceived as the villain and we play what fate that comes to Big Boss and at the end being, if we play Big Boss, we are defeated by Solid Snake, could come to be a creative concept of gameplay and story.

Capcom buys out Konami and sells the last act of MGS5 for a discounted price of $20.

Batzi4167d ago

I think it might be Ground Zeroes related. :P

I really want to believe that the phantom pain trailer was just MGS:GZ (even though all the clue's point to MGS5). I mean if it is MGS5, why would kojima develop two AAA titles so close to each other? i dunno.

Batzi4167d ago

cause the other one is not due out until a couple of years. MGS5 is next-gen. Ground Zeroes is next year.

Soldierone4167d ago

Ground Zeroes looked more "next gen" than MGSV did....

Batzi4167d ago

They looked pretty much the same to me. The doctor looked so realistic.

Soldierone4167d ago

I'm not saying either one looked bad, but Ground Zeroes went from CGI cutscenes to gameplay and you didn't notice it at all.

The Doctor was the end of the CG cutscene, and Medal of Honor: Warfighters cutscenes show why he looked so good. If MOH were to mix their cutscenes into the gameplay, you'd get the same effect.

MariaHelFutura4166d ago

@soldierone

Kojima doesn't use CGI.

Liquid_Ocelot4166d ago (Edited 4166d ago )

@Soldierone
MGS games do NOT use CGI

Liquid_Ocelot4166d ago

When checking the trailer on the Moby Dick Studios website, I stumbled upon the following:

"All footage is shown running in real-time on a PC, the content is aimed at current generation consoles (PS3 & XBOX 360)."

Of course, this is Kojima we're talking about so.. you know how to absorb this trollINFORMATION

metal gear solid 5 to be a virtual boy exclusive.
megaton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If thats the case then point me to where I can find a VB!

Kojima would find a way to max out the VB and give us a perfect game.
