It hard to compete with Black Friday numbers, the week after black Friday and a release week for a console. With that said, each console did fairly well and the 360 still dominating the USA. So far the Vita is selling fairly well, I can't wait to.see how numbers improve with the 3G/Wifi with a year of plus and Unit 13 is released this week.

Dante1124171d ago (Edited 4171d ago )

True, and the PS3 dominated the Europe and Japan numbers as well (I just approved the other vgchartz article). All consoles did well though (USA and Europe). Can't wait to see how everything evens out in the WW totals.

Most of the Wii U's will eventually be returned because of piss poor experience.

Multiple hours in now simply trying to get the piece of shite to connect to the internet and update, on a wifi network that had worked flawlessly on every other single device out there from iPhones to Android phones and X-Box 360's to iMac's.

Just saying... If this expereince is typical, the Wii U is DOA.

Just about ready to box mine up and take it back.

millzy1024171d ago

people having trouble connecting to wifi on wii u go on pc open cmd from start menu type ipconfig/all then copy ip adress' to wii u done mine in 2 mins its not that hard.

Hicken4171d ago

... that's too much. It doesn't take that much for ANY wifi-enabled device I've ever used. Why should a BRAND NEW piece of tech require such old-school workarounds for a basic feature to work?

insta connect here the firdt update took 15 minutes and 2nd 3 minutes no idea what ppl do wrong either user error or dial up interwebz

Xbox360 continues to dominate the software sales list.

stage884171d ago

I know, it's about time they woke up and got PS3's and their exclusives. US, take note of rest of the world.

Belking4171d ago

Little too late for sony to take back the US market. They might as well just focus on recovering for next gen. Xbox is just too strong in the U.S.

Muerte24944171d ago

guesstimates at best. We wont have to wait long before the Big 3 release their quarterly reports. Seeing as how VGChartz has decided to take Microsoft's numbers at face value yet remain skeptic about Sony's, has me seriously doubting their "Sales analysis" very much. VGchartz tracking has been know to be off by as much a 500,000 when it comes to overtracking the 360. It also undertracks ps3 200,000~75,000. I can't deny that Microsoft has made themselves a major player compared to last generation.

BanBrother4170d ago

They under-track anything.

They do under-track the PS3 console sales, but don't make it out as if this is some Microsoft conspiracy. They under-tracked Halo 3 sales by a couple million at one stage. They also counted the shipped numbers of UC3 (3.8 million) but then corrected it.

I'm just saying it does go both ways, before people try to jump on the tin-foil hat bandwagon.

Microsoft once tried to nab LittleBigPlanet from Sony after a few drinks

Microsoft had a good idea but fumbled it again.

Project Spark idea was decent but they quickly gave up ..
LBP was wonderful

ApocalypseShadow19h ago

Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.
https://www.playstationlife...

They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.

They're scum.

Zachmo1828m ago

Microsoft didn't force MLB on Xbox. MLB gave Sony 2 options either go multiplat or risk losing the license.

"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."

Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.

Tody_za2h ago(Edited 2h ago)

Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.

But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?

Inverno1h ago

Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.
