Buy A PS3 Now, Or Wait For Cheaper, Slimmer PS3?

GR: If recent photos of a newly redesigned PS3 are indeed real as speculation and evidence suggests, it could be accompanied by a price drop. And while saving a few bucks (see: at least $50) may sound like something that's worth waiting for, something tells me that buying a PS3 now may be a better decision.

Having seen the pics, I rather pay a little extra and buy a current ps3. I dont like the fliplid disc loading thing, i prefer the auto loader tray.

However, for 1st time buyers as tgey couldnt afford it, this is a sweet offer that is hard to refuse!

I say wait a little till it cools down. Yes you get to experience all the older titles for a reasonable price but if you wanna get your little hands on new material there isn't much to look forward to, now that there is drought. Considering all things(highly rumored super slim, closing onto fall you'll likely find far better bundles and offers. That's just my opinion.

There is no guarantee that it'll be cheaper. They might try and package that 16 gig model with games or Move or something to appeal to families or casuals. Sony has already come out and said they wont be reducing the price of the PS3 anytime soon.

I think the new slimmer model looks atrocious, so I'd suggest getting one of the models out currently.

i believe now its a good time to buy a ps3 if you haven't already, it was 200 dollars at gamestop earlier this summer for like a week but that deal itself was gone...........

but anyways i don't think the ps4 will come out next yr.... there is way too many blockbuster titles that are coming out and that also includes GTA 5 which is coming out next yr. Don't listen to those people who talk about the ps3 being outdated because they don't know what they're talking about and trust me games like the last of us and Beyond Two souls which will make its debut in 2013 will blow your shoes off...

The PS3 4000 is a PS Lite...it looks cheap as fk and the flip loader takes away from the quality IMO...

It really is for price concious ppl or late adopters...plus, after splashing out 380 million for Gaikai, I would imagine Sony would want to recoup the cost of that investment

...380 mil is not to be sniffed at...look at MS aquistion of Rare studios back in 2001...similar sums 330 million, and MS have practically ruined a once great company that is Rare...Gaikai deal is much better IMO.

Its a very good strategy (economically) for Sony....
