I could not agree with this article more.

It seems more and more that PC Gaming is going to be the way to go, by default.

I hate to make this comparison, but it's kinda like having Romney, if you're a Republican...

That may be too harsh a comparison. Poor Republicans... That's the best you could come up with.

Both have their place and both will never go away. PC gaming has flexibility and upgrade-ability in terms of the hardware (and often games in the sense of mods), but console gaming has the advantage of pop-in and go because every console has the same hardware and games are designed for that specific configuration.

Which platform any person will be better off with directly corresponds to the type of gamer that they are. I consider myself a little of both types, but ever since the PS1 I have leaned more towards consoles. Consoles have enjoyed a much grander variety of games for me than the PC platform.

Again, consoles are much more pickup and play oriented since you have no doubts that any game you pop in will or will not work; PC you have to mind the "minimum" or "recommended" specifications as well as keep track of driver updates to avoid issues.

Am I completely knocking PCs? No, because for some people the games offered more than satisfy them. I still prefer PC for certain shooters, any RTS, and some action RPGs like the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series (these more for their mod-ability).
