The dedicated agents of the U.S. Department of Electronic Entertainment report: "Recently IGN ran an article titled "Why Do People 'Hate' EA" a hard-hitting, objective work of game journalism and an early contender for the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Journalism. This company, this community, this family of journalists at IGN has one of the highest Alexa ratings of any video game website, and excellent support from advertisers (But not outrageously so) with a criminally underrated forum, but is still widely regarded as one of the worst websites on the internet."

Admin note: We are allowing this submission as it provides a 4k trailer on YouTube and we have to link to an IGN article. Thank you Purple101 for the submission.
Sony has announced the PS5 Pro, an upgraded version of the PlayStation 5 capable of higher frame rates, better ray-tracing, and improved graphical fidelity."
I recall in the past, my friend attempted to demonstrate the superiority and importance of using an S-video cable for PS1 games compared to the original RCA cables. He would pause the game and switch the video output settings so I could notice the differences.
or it reminds me of the 1080P vs 900P debate.
Honestly even at 4K I can barely see the difference aside frame rate.
Chinese video game company NetEase has reportedly laid off most staff at Visions of Mana developer Ouka Studios with plans to shut it down altogether.
Damn. Picked it up yesterday, really enjoying it. Didn't even realise Netease were involved with it until I first booted it up and their logo popped up.
How awful. What should have been a moment of celebration for the dev team, turned into an terrible day for them.
"The game that you spent years of your life on is finally out for people to enjoy! ALSO YOU'RE ALL FIRED!"
F you NetEase. I'll only remember your company name so that I can avoid it in the future. Hopefully S-E hires the these talented people and gives them more games to work on.
Lame. I just bought the game but have it held at the post office since I’m out of town.
Why not let the game have a chance in the wild before shutting them down.
Wow... Okay... I'm going to go out of my way in trying to avoid purchasing any NetEase game from this point on. It's one thing to shut them down if the game failed on sales. But this hasn't even had a chance to sell yet.
During the IGN Live interview with Phil Spencer, the crowd cheered even if the topic was about closures, and its because they were told to.
Just reading this headline alone made me feel grimy. Disgusting, all around. Haven't trusted IGN since over a decade ago, so this isn't really surprising to hear.
I think that kind of thing night be standard. I once was in the audience for Wheel of Fortune and there was a guy that briefed us before the show on his hand signals, when we were supposed to react/applaud and stuff like that and we were told to check under our seats because one of them had a prize underneath it.
Edit: Okay, read the article, this was definitely some slimy behaviour by IGN and it sounds like it wasn't just on the behalf of Xbox either.
Also, since IGN bought Humble Bundle years ago, they stopped occasionally giving a game away for free during certain big sales events etc, screw IGN.
Do we? On the contrary I've always loved IGN the most.
I hate everything.
@ jb1276
Yes, i hate him too. In fact, i hate myself more than anything. I'm just so sick of it all...*gunshot sound*
I love how people seem to think this article is solely about the N4G community . IGN does get a ton of hate from various communities across the interwebz. The problem is, no one sticks by it. IGN gives a bad review and you get "you can't spell ignorant without IGN!" Yet, when they do give a good review, which is more often than people give them credit for, everyone praises them. Stick by your guns people.
Too many inconsistent review scores.
Some games get punished for certain things, while others get free passes for the same mistakes.
i like IGN for their podcasts i listen every week for them. i like hearing their insight of upcoming games and the companies. could care less for their reviews though
