''SCE has issued a statement regarding the delayed release of the Nasne peripheral. The company says that the internal 500 gigabyte hard drive in some units were damaged during shipment from the factory. The damage occurred after quality assurance tests had been conducted, so Sony has to reinspect all units.''
Oh well that's reasonable but wow that's bad luck that they decide to break down before it was about to launch lol.
i dont understand why it doesnt have a removable HDD, yet you can plug in external HDDs? if youre going to make it a NAS, make it a NAS instead of just half-arsing it. a NAS with 500gb is completely pointless.
limiting the streaming of PlayTV/Torne to only Sony devices is also a typical sony BS move. why not let the 10s of millions of iOS/android device owners stream it?
Andriasang- Sony's Torne followup product Nasne won't see its scheduled release tomorrow. Retailer Famicom Plaza is reporting that Sony has suddenly put a hold on the product.
WTF is Nasne?
@Pirate - Thanks, thought it was the name of the leaked new PS3 slim.
A company with a conscious. They could have released it, and denied that anything was wrong.
No point in having one unless you're in Japan. Or Europe for matter.
Given the structure of US cable companies its just too problematic.
It's an ok idea and I'm glad to see Sony branching out but I can't help feel it's too little.
500g? That's nothing...I'm not sure people will pay so much for so little, Or if the market is big enough for it.
I already have cable with a 1TB Tivo box. And a 2TB NAS attached to the network. Sony are about 2 years too late for me at least.
Maybe they will fair better in the fledgling markets, but I cant think of anyone I know who doesn't have a similar set-up to my own.
But will it blend?
Where does this fit with PlayTV and torne?
I honestly have NO idea what this thing does...
Even after reading the article, I'm completely confused.
Where is the GoogleTV equivalent of this damnit!
