Americans maybe buying ps3 now? Remember a lot of them bought a 360 in the holiday.
It is a rumour people need to remember and sonys reach is wider world wide for playstation than xbox.

But who knows there's no break down on every single country. Plus like I said it's not accurate fiqures.

No, PS3 isn't do any better in the Americas. Look at the software sales for and that will lead you to why a console is getting a boost over another. "Armored Core V" was released in Japan and those guys don't buy Xboxes if the game is also on PS3. That and the 360 sales in Americas fell off a bit.

They are pretty much selling the same rate here in the west and that will continue until something big happens on either side.

Xbox 360 doesn't sell that well once the holiday advertising is over. That plus the fact that PS3 sells ~20k each week in Japan and the rest is from EMEAA.

The PS3 sells well all year around. The Wii & 360 are big sellers in the fall.

It's the same every year. The PS3 outsells the 360 by small amounts for the first 2/3 of the year, slowly but surely building up a lead. Then the holiday months arrive and the 360 starts outselling the PS3 by a wide margin, usually wiping away any lead the PS3 had gained. I don't know why the PS3 never sees as big of a holiday boost. The 360 would not have been the top selling console worldwide last year if the PS3 had performed better during the holidays which it certainly should have with its $50 price cut.

The vgcharts are not 100 percent accurate but they are weekly estimates......they are not that far off from the actual numbers. So many people say will they are made up, but realistically they aren't that far off base. You can never have 100 percent accurate numbers excpet when the parent company (Nintendo,Sony, MS) release there figures and even then they are still off because sales continue after they announce their numbers. Does it truly matter if one week your fav system is off by 40,ooo or up an extra 20,ooo, the following week it may be vice versa. That's why they are estimates based on sales figures from multiple companies that report them and shipping estimates from each ones company.

I think the consoles are in a stage in there life where ms and sony and the developers are happy that there all making money.
Obviously more consoles is always what they want but as of now 60 million plus users on the consoles, there making money from game sales accessories dlc etc and i think the people who care most now about who has the most consoles sold, is just the fanboys on all sides of n4g and not actualy sony ms and nintendo
